Barking Dogs

I know you are thinking I am going to say that I can't stand barking dogs! Well, the opposite is true for me. I am a different person, maybe even a little weird, but I love barking dogs! I don't like it if they just yap on and on, but I enjoy hearing them come out with a good bark periodically. Our dogs usually bark if someone is coming, and especially if they hear and see a vehicle that is strange to them. They also bark if someone knocks on the front door. They bark if they hear coyotes. Our inside dog, Rand, sometimes will come out with a sudden burst, barking, and he scares Carol to death some times with his sudden and very loud bark. It is a quick burst, and then all is quiet! Our outside doggie, Scooby has the loudest, deepest, low notes bark. He is definately in the bass cleff! He only barks if there is a reason. He usually barks one word at a time with pauses in between. His barking is not obnoxious at all, and in fact his barking is pleasant to listen to. Barking especially after bedtime bothers our daughter who lives near us, so we try to control that especially after bedtime. If Rand is out and barking we bring him inside. If Scooby is barking we tell him, "Don't bark Scooby, and he knows what we are saying and he shuts right down with his barking. Our daughter at her house 600 feet away has hollored at him, telling him, "Stop barking, Scooby, and he stops immediately. I think sometimes Scooby barks because he knows that Carol will go out the back door, hold his face, looking into his eyes, and tell him to stop barking, and he loves that! Our dogs are like members of our family, and we love them, and they love us as well. :D :D
