Yes, Crisi, love with sincerity. It is good to love, important to love, commanded of God to love. As you said it is important not to let or make someone think that we are there for them if we in fact are not there for them. That is what hurts is when we give someone hope, and it does not turn out that way. It is like misleading them to think something that is not true. We can tell someone that we love them as in we love them in Christ as a brother or sister, but if we tell someone of the opposite sex that we love them as in we want to marry them, we need to make sure that is our intention and that we are prepared to follow through on that, otherwise hurt can result.
