Well, it is Sunday morning, about 20 minutes after 6:00 a.m., and I am all ready to go to church. I know I get up earlier than I need to, but better earlier than later. If you are earlier, you can wait it out, but if you are later, there is not much you can do! Our electricity failed two times this last week. The first time I had a hard time getting the heating/wood pellet stove started, but finally it did start, and the second time the electricity failed it started right back up, so I was thankful for that, because it is still winter here, and although it is not as cold has it has been, it is still too cold, close to freezing, to go without heat for our house and our comfort.

Both alarm clocks became unset because of the drop in the electricity, so I reset both of them. One of the clocks I set about one minute fast, so I was out of bed and in to the living room to stop the one alarm before the other had a chance to sound, so I am not sure it works but I think it does.

Now our car is parked right at our house, so I will take my summer boots/shoes, as well as wearing my winter boots. We still have lots of snow here, and it is slick so the winter snow boots are warranted, but it has been warm in the valley, so I think all the streets and parking lots will be free of snow, so I will put my summer boots/shoes on once we get to town!

I am really looking forward to being in church, and I hope our youngest daughter, her daughter, one or both will go with us to church. There is nothing like getting your spiritual batteries recharged at church!

Because of a little family problem we can only get to church every other Sunday. The people involved could say, "Well, we are going to go to church anyway, but that is not happening yet, and we have to be with them when the younger daughter visits, but that may change.

We have been very blessed in that we have not missed any church service because of the weather. One Sunday we went out of here in a storm, and we were not able to return home until the County plowed the snow out from the road. Then we drove our car in to our house, and we had a hard time getting it out. Finally the road was opened long enough for us to drive out. Then we left our car parked about a quarter of a mile from our house, and walked to our car whenever we wanted to go somewhere. We did that for, I think, about a month or so. We used toboggans to pull fire wood, wood pellets, and groceries in to our house. Finally the roads were opened up, and we have been able to drive to and from our house for about a month or so. This last week we had 2 or 3 really warm days and night with a little light wind. It thawed things out until from here to our mailbox it was getting really muddy, and we were sinking as we were trying to drive. We went out last Tuesday to see our new great grandson. We managed to get back in, but it was not really easy, spinning the wheels and losing speed, but we managed to get back to our house. I was worried about being able to drive out of her to go to church, but last night it got cold enough so that the ground froze, making it easy to drive out of here this morning. When we came back home after church, and running around with our kids a bit, I knew from places in the County Road that I should not drive in to our house. Even where I parked when the snow was drifted was soft enough so that I couldn't get backed in there to park. So I drove back up the road, turned around, and drove off the road in a place where the ground was solid, and now our car is safely off the road, just a couple of hundred feet from where we were parking before, so God is good! We made it to church, had fun for the day, returned home, and we are safe. Carol carried as many groceries in as she could, actually she carried more than she could so I helped her with about half the distance, and then I made 3 more trips, walking through the mud, carrying eggs, milk, and few groceries, and now we feel really happy that we made it to church, had fun for the day, and are safely back home! :D :D
