tooth pulling

Lately, during my trip abroad, my only judgment tooth got infected and started aching and... oh... it gave me lot to think. I didn't have to wait too long to travel, so I thought to buy some anti-inflammatory and antibiotic, to keep the situation stable and have the time to go back home. For three days it seemed to work, but then it burst in a bigger pain inside the gum. Despite it was not swollen (the antibiotic was working well) I understood that I was at risk of fever and it could get worse. So... I had to visit a dentist.

The response came at once; I had to pull out the tooth. I thought, "Oh my... I have to travel and I need energy". With all the assurance from the dentist, I accepted to pull it out. It was the first operation with anesthesia that I did in maybe 30 years. I really felt nothing and made the doctor laugh when I said, "Wow... already done?". However, when he injected the anesthesia, I felt shook up for a while. I felt all one side of the face not responding, and even my left arm falling apart. Soon I got the sensation that I could not breathe... and I went into a shock situation. But it passed somewhat quickly thereafter, after some relaxing. And then everything went fine.

The following day I felt a little dull, but happy that everything went fine. I was so impressed that I came back to the doctor, to fix all my other teeth :D One day more and I was ready to travel back.

I managed to keep my pulled out tooth, so I can hang it to my neck eventually. And when somebody will ask me, I can say that I defeated a bear :D :D :D :D :D :D Just kidding. How was your experience with teeth?

I take after my mother. She had teeth that deteriorated forever, and she had lots of work done on her teeth. I've had a lot of work done on my teeth early on. I did have a wisdom tooth that was bothering me, and the dentist pulled it. It was an easy experience, and it was out before I knew what was happening!

Dentists started doing temporary work when I was a young guy. They would drill out the decay, put a temporary filling in, and you were supposed to return to them to have them remove that temporary filling, and put in a permanent one. I had temporary work done, tried to not return, then had decay under the temporary filling, making my teeth problems much worse. I did this for years until finally my teeth got so bad that they started hurting like crazy, and also I started getting absesses! About 12 years ago my teeth were in such poor repair that I started getting permanent work done, and root canels. The dentist did temporary crowns, told me to be very careful and not even eat some things that required hard chewing. I did return for the permanent work, and it cost a terrible amount of money, but I recovered! Carol was suffering from the same problems, and she decided she was just going to have all her teeth pulled, but a couple of dentists talked her out of that, and she had the same work done that I did on my teeth. Now we have good teeth, and we work hard to take care of them!

I have gone into shock twice. The first time I was wearing a catheter because of a prostate that would not allow me to urinate on my own. I was helping set up for Halloween, and I stressed the tube going into my body enough that I started getting blood mixed in my urine. When I saw it, it looked worse than it was, and I went into shock thinking I was bleeding to death! My shock didn't last a long time, but it was very traumatic, with me getting weak, getting really cold, shaking, and so forth. A filipina gal who worked for the Park Service in maintenance talked to me, and she was a close friend. She asked if she could see, and because of my problems all thoughts of decency went out the window, so I pulled my pants down, and showed her. She helped bring me out of my shock. The other time was upon seeing my own blood also, and that shock lasted 2 hours, with warm blankets being piled on me, and they had me drinking 4 cans of juice. My blood pressure was 60 over 40,a nd my pulse rate was 40 beats. It was kind of funny because when I came out of shock, then all of a suddent I was fine wiht no after effects! :D :D

:D :D :D I forgot to mention the blankets pile. When I went into shock, I felt very cold and trembling. I was thinking, Uh... if they are pulling my tooth now, with me trembling so much, they will pull lot of teeth at the same time :D

So I politely asked for a blanket. They saw my face blank, so they turned on a TV just in front of me. I guess that's their shock recovery apparatus :D But overall it worked (especially the blanket), and after a while I started to feel better and they could move on. They pulled my tooth and entire face. I was to complain with the assistant, because she did not just pull my face/skull... but was pulling my eye, which felt uncomfortable. But when I was going to say it... the tooth was already out :D Fortunately the eye was still there :D :D :D

I am glad that they saved your eye, mystic. Yes, what was happening to you can be very traumatic! They actually heated the blankets, so when they put them on me they were very warm, and then I know the juice helped. When I went into shock where the filipina gal asked if I would show her, I know some would be offended by that, but she was very nice, and our good friend, so Carol had no objection, neither did I, and she was helping to take my mind off what was causing me problems, so she was a sweetheart for me! :D :D
