County Fair

Here in the USA most of the counties in the United State have county/country fairs. These fairs are fun to go to. Individuals bring their chickens, turkeys, rabbits, dogs, sheep, goats, steers, cows horses, and they enter them in the fair hoping to get a prize, grand champion, blue ribbon, red, or white. The country Granges have exhibits. People enter their garden produce, their jam/jelly, baked pies, cakes. Also there are farm machinery exhibits of new machinery as well as old antique machinery that is no longer used. Some of the fairs have rodeos and horse races also. There are individual food booths or temporary restaurants where you can eat if you are hungry. We just went to a fair in an ajoining county, mainly because our granddaughter has a boyfriend there. Our own county fair has one of our local fire departments selling icecream to raise money for what they need. Each year I usually always buy some as they give you lots of icecream for your money! Our own county fair is bigger and better than the one we just went to, but the one we just went to was fun. Most of the fairs also have entertainment/music. They both have popular, western music, and other types as well as having Christian music. The fair is fun to go to. They usually have it open for about three days, but we just go one day, because once you have seen it, you have seen it!
