I have noticed a new type of chicken coup coming into fashion around here, and that is the chicken tractor. It is a portable building that has a wood frame, and a small roof on one end with some nesting boxes. The coup is covered with wire mesh, and most also have a wire mesh floor. The coup is mover around the yard, and the chickens scratch the grass looking for bugs, and then the fertilize that are of the yard with their manure. The coup will have wheels on one end so it can be moved around easily. Every few days, it is moved to a new location so that the grass is not worn down to bare earth. It is an alternative to free range chickens, bit does provide a better diet for the foul, and they produce more and healthier eggs.
