Have You Ever Had Jesus As A Guest At Your House?

Postby Edwin » Sat Feb 23, 2013 7:21 pm

There's more than one way to look at this subject. We invite Jesus in to our lives, to come in sup with us, and live with us. Jesus wants to be an integral part of our lives. He wants to go with us where we go, and He wants to be with us when we do what we do. We must never shut Jesus out of our lives by pushing Him away, or by doing things that He could not stay with us while we are doing those things.

Jesus came to be a guest at Mary, Martha, and Lazarus's house. They were His good friends. There was a welcoming atmosphere there, and they loved Him, and Jesus loved them as well. Martha was busy and cumbered about many things. She had to have everything in place, and she had to have everthing done. Mary and Lazarus sat and visited with Jesus, and especially Mary. Martha complained that her sister was not helping her, and Jesus told Martha that Mary had chosen the better part. Sometimes we get too busy doing good things to leave room for the important things. It is important to clean and straighten the house, but it is also important to spend time with Jesus. The idea here is not to neglect one thing for another, but the idea is to leave room for the important things. Martha could have gotten those things ready, and still spent time at Jesus' feet, but she neglected her fellowship with Jesus completely, and then she was griped at Mary for not helping her with what she was doing. Do we spend time with Jesus as well as doing the things that we need to do? :D :D

I try my best to have my daily devotion every morning. And Bible reading in the evening. I realize that my life is not complete without reading His word and pray in the morning. So I wake up early and read and pray.

My life has change when Jesus Christ came into my life. Having a relationship to Him is very vital for our daily life. Without it, our day is dry and not lively. And also it is empty without His presence in our daily activities. It is only by His grace that we can continue to be faithful and He is faithful even we are not. Thanks be to God.
Nothing can separate us from the love of God

I can't imagine life without God's blessings. I have always lived with that desire in my heart from the time I was a little boy. I have not always been as good a person as I should have been, but God has kept me, and brought me closer to Him. Jesus does change our lives when He comes in, and He does make all things new. I can't imagine being without God's protection, and that is where we would be without Him. He truly sets His Angels round about us to protect us, and we don't want to be without God's protection in our lives. Yes, Crisi, it is by God's grace, and we live our lives striving to honor God, and faithfulness is what He desires from us, but God is faithful whether or not we are, and God helps us to be faithful to Him. It must be our desire to please God. I am so thankful that God loves us, and that He gave His only begotten Son for us that we should not perish, but have everlasting life! :D :D

Jesus is not a guest in our house because He lives in our house. 8-) He lives in our hearts. He is everywhere in our house.
One time I felt so bored like I know it is my soul that is lacking spiritually. So I meditate calling for Holy Spirit to fill me. I grab the Bible and read verses. I prayed too. After that I felt alive.
Our soul needs God's word for food.

Red, we have often heard about Jesus as being a guest at our houses, but you are very correct, because Jesus wants to come in and abide with us. He wants to make his abode with us, and He wants His habitation to be with us. He inhabits, or dwells, or lives in the praises of His people. You are so right Red, we need God's Holy Spirit to make Jesus real to us, and we find Him in his word illuminated by His Holy Spirit. The better question is, "Does Jesus live at your house?" An awareness of that and the reality of it makes a difference in our lives. Jesus wants to live with us, and we need Him! :D :D

The Lord Jesus Christ, is not only the guest at my house (life) but He is my life. He is everything to me, and I have surrendered my life to Him long time ago. I try to renew my commitment everyday because sometimes, I am living a life of what I want, and I forget that His will is the greatest of all. To live a life committed to Christ is the most wonderful life to live ever. It is really an experience. I feel so secure in Christ and I am secure in did.

without jesus in our lives, life would be miserable, life without him was meaningless.
jesus is not only a guest in our house he always there for us, who guide and protect us everyday of our lives.
everytime when i was in grief all i wanted is to pray and pray to him even in times that we have abundant blessing i always pray to him
to be thankful for always there for me at times ups and downs in my life.
