A Simple Job

Postby Edwin » Tue Aug 06, 2013 5:24 pm

Have you ever had something that you needed to get accomplished, and you thought it would take you about five minutes? Last spring when we had water in our cellar, I dug out, the outside wall of the cellar, down to where the water comes in from the holding tank. I turned a block on its side so there would be a hole for the water to come in. I left the other hole open for later use, as I was thinking about putting a frost free faucet in. Anyway I dug it down, put a garden/yard hose through the hole, connected the hose to the sump pump, and I pumped water out of my cellar until the first part of July, after which the water source dried up. I purchased a 4 inch abs black drain pipe and an elbo. I decided I would put that pipe in for an air vent as as the cellar is still damp from all that water in it. I decided to wait until the water source dried up, as I knew it would eventually. I has been dried up for about a month now, but I have been concentrating on other projects, and taking a break. Last evening when we were doing the chickens and turkeys, Carol asked me to dig two holes for a couple of bushes that she got. I went, got the shovel, helped her plant the bushes, then thought I would pull that hose out of that hole. I discovered dirt and rocks had fallen back in the hole, so had to dig out to get the hose out. By that time it was dark, so I have Carol come hold a light for me while I dug. I thought it was going to be a five minute job, and I have worked on it for about four hours or more, and it is not done yet! I got the hose out, and I decided to go ahead and dig it out enough so that I could put that 4 inch pipe in. It will serve as an air vent, and also I can run a couple of hoses through it, or 3 if needed, one at a time is all that is needed. I worked on it last night until Carol was tired of holding the light for me, and I was tired of digging. It was really hard, because it is about 8 or more feet deep, and I almost have to stand on my head to do the digging. I have the 4 inch pipe, the elbow, and a length of pipe going through the wall. All I need to do to finish the job is do a little more digging to angle the pipe as I want to have it at a 30 or so degree angle to make it come at a slant up to the side of the cellar. I have just a little more digging to do to finish, so that it is a the desired angle, but now it is extremely hot out side, and my arm and back are both sore because of the necessary bending, reaching, and stretching, so I may finish it today, and I may leave it for another day. It all depends on my mood this evening whether or not I go back to work and finish it. What remains to be done is very little in comparison with what I have done!  :D

When you are doing something that is simple, sometimes you wont appreciate what you have done. While doing many things that are hard one, it ended me pressured and serious. This makes me stress a lot.

Yesterday, was in the regional office for audit. I am so happy to know that it would be very easy for the records to check and counter check with the records at regional office, for it is complete and in proper order.

It would be a happy feeling to know that you are doing well with what job you are in.

Simple or hard work, most important is that you are doing this for His glory. :D :D :D :D

My mom told me many times, that there are simple job she wanted to do but because she is stroke victim she cant. And that she is feeling frustrated not to do it. Like sweeping the floor, fixing the kitchen etc.

There are lots of things to do when you are home. Mind you, work will never end, from washing dishes, cleaning the house, doing laundry, uprooting the weeds. Wow a lot of work, simple but cannot be done all day.

Tomorrow would be weekend and that will be my time spending working at home. I hope we are allow to have vacation from work. But i realized that if I will avail my 15 days vacation, it is a lot of money when monetized. So better not to spend vacation. But sometimes i feel sick not to have vacation anyway. I need that.

i feel sad to your mom mm and i know what shes been thru, anyway i have a auntie that shes going thru... it is a frustration to have illness that is paralyze half your body... all we need to do is to understand them and let them do whatever they want to even its very hard to see them suffering in there situation. sometimes i see her daughter helping her mother out to get some fresh air even that its a accomplishment to them.

Today, my mother went to the hospital accompanied by my brother. I do not know how was it yet and I hope it did okay. My mothers blood pressure increased a lot for the past days. She keeps herself busy as she can and try not to idle herself. I advised her to drink more liquid and fruits and vegetables. It is a lot of worries when she is sick, i know the feeling because I have been sick long time ago. As the saying goes, "health is wealth" is really true. If we are sick, we can do nothing and nothing really accomplish. While when we are healthy, we can do what we want to and accomplish what we desire to.
