Tension Caused by Differences in Religion

Postby crisipicada » Fri Jan 03, 2020 10:12 pm

I just want to share about tension caused by differences in sect or religion in a relationship. A couple is asking how to deal such relationship and how to make it work when two have different beliefs and traditions specifically the guy is a protestant and the girl is a Roman Catholic. The issue on where to get married and how to raise children when it comes to faith since the couple have different

"Let us give you some thoughts

ONE.

Since we got older, we will tell you it’s really frustrating when SO MUCH DIFFERENCES COME OUT OF 2 SECTS that actually have an almost identical manual/bible.

(Except for the Apochrypha OR THE BOOKS IN BETWEEN THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT in the Roman-Catholic bible, everything in ROMAN CATHOLIC and CHRISTIAN bibles ARE EXACTLY IDENTICAL/SAME.)

So you will discover(as you grow older and do research) that A LOT OF THE DIFFERENCES IN THE 2 SECTS ARE ABOUT INTERPRETATIONS AND TRADITIONS of men….on these same/alike scriptures...

Basta we will leave you with the MOST IMPORTANT nugget:

From Genesis to Malachi(Old Testament), Matthew to Revelation(New Testament)…

ROMAN CATHOLIC and CHRISTIAN HAVE THE EXACT SAME SCRIPTURES.

EXACTLY THE SAME. (Except the Apochrypha books as we mentioned).

Really CRAZY HOW PEOPLE FIGHT/DIFFER WHEN THEY ACTUALLY HAVE THE SAME MANUAL right?

Haha....

—————

SECONDLY,

sometimes when we get passionately religious, we get caught up with THE RULES without knowing we HAVE GONE A BIT OVERBOARD…

(" my Bf should be a Roman Catholic, , because i am RC ...etc etc...)

For example, you can have a Roman Catholic marry a Roman Catholic….. SOME HAPPY, SOME NOT HAPPILY MARRIED…

On the other hand…

You can have a Christian marry another Christian….. SOME HAPPY, SOME NOT HAPPILY MARRIED….

Now you can mix the 2 also….

A RC marries a Christian…. SOME HAPPY, SOME NOT HAPPILY MARRIED.

Faith is very important,

KNOW YOUR NEGOTIABLE VALUES OF FAITH(pcan be compromise, it can be talked about etc)

BUT ALSO KNOW YOUR NON-NEGOTIABLES IN FAITH(hindi pede icompromise)

Marriage and long-term relationships REQUIRE MUCH COMPROMISES ON MANY LEVELS:)

————

THIRD(and last),

since you profess faith…. ASK PAPA GOD:

“SHOULD I STAY WITH HIM OR LEAVE HIM BECAUSE YOU HAVE SOMEBODY ELSE FOR ME?”

Follow and obey what is impressed in your heart:)

I would say that the tensions between a Catholic and a Protestant would be much less than that between one of those and a Muslim or Buddhist or an atheist.

It is supposed to be not be an issue, but as observed, it has always been a concern. For married couples, they have to decide on what church they will be both finally embracing because as a family, they should go to church together..you cannot say to your partner, you will there, and I will be here. You should be together especially you if you have kids already. The cliche says, the family that prays together, stays together.

I do believe that personal relationship with the Lord is important. Usually what happened is that, we become so much concerned about going to church because we do not want to forsake the assemby as read in Hebrews 10:25, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

I do believe that personal devotion is necessary before we do anything else. Preparation of our hearts before we hear message at church.
