What is your view on Contraception? Is it Morally wrong?

As what we may observe many religious leaders claim that contraception is morally wrong.

With this regard, I wanted to know about your opinions regarding this matter.

My question to pose to that question is, what has this religious leader seen that makes him think contraception is wrong? When a country is so overcrowded that having more than one or two children means a life of near poverty, and the increase in population does nothing but aggravate the problem, how can contraception be immoral? Where does it say in religious text that one should not avoid getting pregnant? One can avoid pregnancy by not doing that which causes it, or perhaps using contraception, which allows the couple to express love in the most intimate physical way possible without the worry of contribution to a significant social problem. Thousands of years ago, when the world's population was small, the only way to make sure your way of life didn't die out was to have lots of children. Now that overpopulation is a problem, such activity is counterproductive.

Basically because the sexual act is when the two spouses give themselves to each other completely. And that includes your fertility. There is always the possibility of giving life.
Contraception goes against this and reduces the sexual act to nothing more than vain pleasure. Abortive methods are considered as murder as at the instant of conception there is everything needed to develop the embryo's life and to let it grow into a fully grown human being.

In a perfect world maybe, but this is a far from perfect world. I agree with Joey:-

to say nothing of the important role of condoms in the prevention of the spread of HIV/AIDS.
