Christmas Music

Postby Edwin » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:22 pm

How many of you enjoy Christmas music. When I was in the Philippines a little over a year ago, in the middle of October they were playing Christmas music already in the malls. I enjoyed it very much as I love Christmas music. When we are into our Christmas it is freezing cold, usually with snow and cold winds. It seemed strange to be in the Philippines listening to Christmas music while it was hotter than blazes. Carol say that Christmas only comes once a year and she has a point, so she wants to listen to her recorded Christmas music, but I can't play the piano while she is listening. She listens for a time, and I get on the computer/internet, and that is okay, because I do get enough playing time in. Some people have the feeling that Christmas is commercialized, and the stores start pushing Christmas earlier and earlier each year. Well, it is okay with me because I like everything about Christmas, the music, the decorations, and all that goes with it. When I was little I looked forward to Christmas with great anticipation, and we kids studied the Christmas catalogues for weeks to figure out what we really wanted, and seldom did we get what we dreamed about, but that is okay, as it is cheap to dream, and very enjoyable. Now somehow Christmas just comes without as much anticipation, but I still love Christmas and everything that goes with it very much! :D :D :D :D

It hardly seems possible Christmas has come and Christmas has gone! When I was little Christmas came with great expectations. Now at this time in my life, Christmas just comes and goes, but I still like Christmas. Carol wanted to listen to Christmas Carol's on the radio and her CDs and tapes, and I accomodated her because as she said Christmas only comes once a year with only a few days to listen to the music and then it is gone. Carol did pay me a compliment; she told me that I am playing the Christmas songs well enough now that she can enjoy listening to me play them. It is funny because I thought the first year I started playing the piano that I would consentrate on the Christmas songs, and I would have them down so that I could play them well by Christmas. Well, Christmas music is difficult, and after about 5 years I am still trying to get them down!!!! They are coming though.    :D :D
