What Filipino Qualities Do You Admire Most?

Whether you are a filipino or tribe came from what is important is the heart. Because everything will follow. If you are full of love, you can be kind, loving, respectful and be very careful to say so that others wont get hurt. So, guard your heart because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Yes, Crisi, a heart of love is very important; God's Love. What you said about not saying things that will hurt another person is so important. It is so easy to say something carelessly that hurts someone else, even without meaning to say things like that. We need to be really careful, and then be quick to say I am sorry, I really didn't mean it that way, and I didn't mean to hurt you, I wouldn't hurt you for the world.

I am a sensitive person, and have been all my life. I worry about how other people feel and what they think. I have been hurt a lot because I am that kind of a person. My wife, Carol, tells me a lot lately that I need to talk to the Lord about any of my hurts and get rid of them, and that is true. I try, and then I remember them again. But she is right, the Lord can help me to get rid of all my hurts if I will let Him do it for me. I have a difficult time forgetting and forgiving, but I must forget and forgive!

Thanks for sharing, I found that post interesting and it led me to do some further reading (you could probably guess in which book). Now I'm kinda curious about the whole topic but I'll save my ponderings and questions for another time/thread.

Regarding the qualities of Filipinos - I have not known many but the majority of those I've met were very often smiling and also humorous, and I think those are great qualities. I've also heard good things about the hospitality of Filipinos and the importance they place on family.

Although I do tend to admire a filipina on the outside, as they tend to be petite and darker, it is most important to see the inner beauty.

I guess, after all these years, I would value loyalty above all else. I feel without Loyalty all else is pretty much worthless.

There are a couple of sayings we have about beauty. One of them is that beauty is only skin deep. I would beg to differ with that, as beauty is dimentional as well. Some of us who have Native American blood in us have high cheek bones. That is one think that I have from that heritage. Another are the way our ribs are shaped. Both my rib cages use to have a point that stuck out slightly, but now I have only one due to a football accident. Now I one rib cage like I was born with, and the other resulting from being blocked with someone's elbow, which didn't feel nicely, and now that rib cage is forever changed. Many other things go into beauty, such as teeth, posture, hair color, and whether or not you have hair, skin tone, and many other things.

They also say that beauty is as beauty does. So in that case if a person is beautiful, but poorly behaved, you might say that person is ugly, no matter how beautiful he/she is. The makes me think of the song that some of they lyrics go, "Everything is beautiful in its own way...." Ray Stevens does a nice job of singing that song as well as playing the piano.

I like the attitude of filipino people. Even though many are poor, they have a happy go lucky attitude. They see humor in everything. I like their close family ties, and how they stick together. I like it that so many of them have faith in God, in stead of being in rebellion and wanting to erase God from everything like many people in this country want to do. I even like the jealously that they have because that just means that they love you a lot. I do like their hospitality also. God wants us to be hospitible to each other.

I believe that. It is important to consider the inner beauty of a person. Who wants to live with someone who is bad attitude or bad temper? Who wants to stay with someone who will not understand your feelings and your concerns? Of course i wanted to be a good wife in the future. THat is only by the grace of God but that is my prayer.

Loyalty, honesty, and inner beauty are important qualities! A friend of mine from many years ago was in a family operation that hired a lot of Mexicans. He and I were talking about the discrimination that took place with them because they were Mexicans. He commented that he thought they were beautiful people. He liked their brown eyes, dark skin, and long black hair, and many of them are happy go lucky type people also that see the lighter side of life. They laugh about things that we don't see any humor in, but that makes life happy for them too! Some like them petite, and some like them rolly polly, or a little on the heavy side! I have no problem with the weight as long as they are healthy. It is sad when being over weight causes health problems. If they eat right, exercise, and are over weight, maybe that is the way God made them, and who am I to argue with that!
