Vitamins and minerals make energy possible with what they do to carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, but there is no energy in vitamins or mineral. They are just catelysts to help see that energy is derived from the carbs and proteins. Without the good fats you won't have some of the most needed vitamins, A, D, E, & K, because they are fat soluable, and no fat, no vitamins. So as bad as some people think fat is, it is necessary for life and health. There is also a danger with fat soluable vitamins when taking supplements because they can build up in your system to a toxic level and kill you. Most water soluable vitamins will wash out of your system through your kidneys before they will endanger your life, but fat soluable vitamins can be dangerous if one takes too many of them using supplements. A person has to be careful with supplements because you are either wasting your money buying them, or in the worst case you are risking your life, as they can become toxic because they don't go away, they just keep building in your fat until they basically poison you. Vitamins and minerals are usually no problem from eating them in foods, it is just when taking supplements that they can be deadly.

Of course now most every day I am digging in my cellar, which gives me a lot more exercise than that. People want a miracle pill that will help them to be healthy, and that pill is varied diet, good food, and enough exercise.
