The Angkor group of temples covers a massive area. It is difficult to convey in photos the size of either the temples or the site as a whole. It swallowed hundreds of tour buses and transport was necessary to move from one site to another.

Two feet of a carving that went on for hundreds of yards and was in the region of 8 feet high. In this extract the Khmer (normal faces) were fighting the invading Chams (ape like faces). I think the Chams were Thai, but I could be wrong. So many facts overwhelm my meagre brain cells.

This view attempts to give an idea of the scale of just the Angkor Wat temple. The photograph was taken from the central towers and in the far distance can be seen the main gate and outer walls, the moat is beyond that.

Bantay Kdei - about 1 hours drive from Angkor Wat. It is covered in carvings.
