There was a time when I didn't know what the word scam meant! After I graduated from College with my BA in education I got my teaching certificate as well as a special education endorsement, with the continuing variety. Well, for 10 years I substitute taught for teachers who were sick, or tired, and I think some of them were both sick and tired! Well, I was subbing for a special education teacher in the middle school. I had my plan I was trying to follow, but it wasn't working very well. The kids were taking advantage of me. The teacher was still in the building working on something else. He came back through and told me that the kids were scamming me. What he meant was that they were pulling the wool over my eyes, deceiving me into thinking they were doing what they were supposed to do when they were not. I had a hard time at first, but I caught on quickly. You either do that or you die. I survived for 10 years, and starting the 2nd year I was busy with a job almost every day.    :D :D

I thought before, when you say scammer when dating, it is the person who is not honest at all. Just want to play games over the internet, promising and lots of false hope to the person he or she talk to. He or she has so many plans together in the future but actually just promising. That is scammer to me, playing games. I do not understand then that scammer is the one who is interested in money to get. So later i understand then when i read some of the post here.

As Smiley said a scam is a trick. I was scammed when the kids at school made me think they were doing what they were supposed to be doing, when they were doing everything except what they were supposed to be doing. Usually the word scam has to do with some kind of a money loss due to someone tricking you into giving them your money when they don't have it coming, and are giving you nothing in return. People are scammed out of a little money, or they might be scammed out of all the money they have. Often times someone is pretending that they are going to make you rich, so you believe them and give them all your money. Some scammers pretend they love you, so you give them sometimes whatever they ask for, but often those people are pretending to love many people and all those people are giving them what they can, and the scammers are not what they are pretending to be, but just getting what they can by deceit. Often times in this country older Americans get scammed by younger people pretending to do something wonderful for them; they give their money, often all they have, and get nothing in return. They often times lose their houses, bank accounts, and properties. A loney person desperate for love will often get scammed by someone pretending to give them love and taking their money. Often times a Western person will scam a filipina, pretending to be what they are looking for, but when the Western person gets what he/she wants, that person will disappear, leaving the filipina behind with damge done to her. All of us have to realize what can happen and then be on our guard, being as careful as well can, and seek God for guidance. Be sure you are not being scammed before giving what is being asked of you.

We need a machine that eats scammers! No, I'm just kidding of course. I don't think they would even taste good! They might leave a bad taste in your mouth. It is rather interesting what has happened on the internet over the years. When we first got on the internet in the late 1980s, you didn't have to be afraid of what was going to happen on the internet. Someone sent me an e-mail about cheap medications. I responded to it, and it was a legitimate company, Destination Rx, that did a search for people to find the most reasonable medications. We used that to find medications for Carol for years. Now I would not trust anything like that as they would probably be trying to sell Viagra, Cealis, Vicadone, or some other questionable drugs. The problem now is that you can't trust these people to be honest, and you might just get sugar pills instead of medications. A few years after that in the early 1990s we started getting a lot of these kinds of e-mails, trying to sell questionable drugs, trying to hook people into other people who were not honest, offering everything you can imagine, including these African and Nigerian scammers. I used to delete them by the hundreds, and then the e-mail that I use came up with a spam blocker, where anything questionable goes right to another folder, then shortly after it is deleted. I don't even see a lot of that stuff that I used to have to sort through to get to our good e-mail. It is sad that we have to protect ourselves from evil people, but that is what our society is like now, and it is getting worse. We have to have spam blockers, antivirus protection, and we have to be concerned about spyware and addware, all trying to use you to their advantage, not yours!    :D :D

Somebody just sent me private message. I replied and welcome the person and encourage to join the forum. Not sure if it is a scam but if it is, that would be the first and last response. :) The person registered on this forum on April 6.
