I am also impressed when people devote their lives to living to glorify God. Being an ordained minister in the Assembly of God church I get notified every time a minister in our district, which is Washington, mainly dies. I read them because I am always interested in people, what they did, where they went, and how they lived. I read about this lady, ordained minister who died when she was just past 100 years old, and that amazed me, because not everyone even makes it to be 100 years old. Her name was Rev. Lois Prater. She lived around the Seattle area, and when she was 76 years old her husband died. She started going to the Philippines with church groups. While speaking at a small church in the Philippines she became aware of someone who was trying to sell their baby to attemp to have survival for the rest of the family. She helped them with a little money, and then she went home, sold everything she owned, returned to the Philippines and started a children's home. She ministered at the children's home, and small school involved with it, until her health started deteriorating in 2005, when she returned to the area around Seattle, Washington. When she did, the Assembly of God church took over her children's home, and sent missionaries to continue its work, and then just a few weeks ago she died just past her 100th birthday. What a marvelous life, and selfless life that lady lived! It is the "King's Garden Children's Home in the Baatan peninsula, around Orion.
