That was pretty funny, Red! We are watching the NCIS series belonging to our granddaughter, and they are fun to watch. Carol likes the murder, mystery stuff more than I do, but I am enjoying watching these movies.

Part of what makes them fun to watch is the personal interactions between the NCIS agents. Some of them are very serious, some crazy, some with lots of humor, and some with wit. These exchanges, I think, is what makes the programs good.

One of the agents is Zeva David, pronounced Dawveeed. She was a former Israeli Musaud agent, and her father was their head guy. Anyway you know Red about our idioms that we use, and how hard it is to understand all of them. In these shows they make a quite a play on her misunderstanding, and misuse of the American idioms. I think they over do it just a little, making it a ways from reality, but it is funny anyway. She is always saying the idiom wrong and then she gets corrected with lots of laughs. For instance she will say, "Something got his sheep." The idiom is "got his goat." A mandate is an order for something to be done, but she interpreted it as a man's date! It is all pretty funny, but I would still recommend "Ma and Pa Kettle" for good laughs!

Ah NCIS.....guess what sir ed, my husband and daughter watches that when they can at night. We have recordings on that too. I have collections of them too from season 1 to 4 i think. I like the humor there of the agents. I remember kate and Tony had this childish fight where tony showed kate's picture which she was wearing bikini surrounded by men. Tony blackmailed her. It was awesome fun.

Yes, that was pretty funny! Zeba's last name, David, pronounced Daaveeed is the same as my first name, only pronounced differently. Tony has some of Zeba's bikini pictures in a folder on his computer, and he threatens her with them every so often, and yes their playful bantering is really fun to watch, and funny!

I thought of something else funny. On "Hee Haw" years ago they had this joke about the guy getting thown in jail for helping a lady cross the street. The guy asked why he would get thrown in jail for helping a lady cross the street, and he said it was because she didn't want to cross the street! Two of my Mom's brothers got into trouble over a similar situation, and for real. One brother was older than my Mom, and the other brother was younger, and now all three of them are dead, two from old age, and one from a rodeoing accident when he was still rodeoing when he was about 85 years old. Anyway, my Mom's brothers gave this woman a ride with the agreement that they would let her out at the Post Office. They were both just big young kids, and when they got to the Post Office, the woman refused to get out of the car. So one of my uncles proceded to pull her, bodily out of the car when the sheriff came by, and he was taken to jail for the night! I'm not sure what he was supposed to have done, but evidently he should not have attempted to pull her out of the car!

When we lived at the head of the Lake in the National Park for 10 years I went out on boats three times with emergency type situations. One time was when I sprained my ankle, and they were afraid that I might have broken a bone in my foot or ankle, but I didn't and everything was fine. Another time I cut my hand badly, deeply just below my wrist, and the Park Ranger took me out on a fast Park Boat with big engines and lots of speed! When they got me to where they park their boats this Park Ranger tried to call an ambulance, and I finally talked him out of doing that! It would have cost thousands of dollars, and I didn't have insurance. I finally talked him into allowing me to have a ride from the people I worked for. He was nervous because at another National Park he did drop someone off for a ride, and he almost lost his job because they blamed him for not taking good enough care of this person.

My son-in-law's grandmother, who has been dead now for many years, but at the time she was 85 years old, strong and healthy. She lost control of her car on a slick road and ended up in the ditch. She wasn't hurt, there was nothing wrong with her, but the EMTs instisted that she be taken to the hospital. She was strong and she didn't want to go, and it took 3 strong men to get her onto that stretcher, and get her into the ambulance. She was fighting them all the way. She was a little short person, but she was strong and they had a tussle. Anyway the funny part of that whole story is that they put it on the evening news from Spokane, Washington, and all of her family watched her trying to fight them off while they were forcing her into the ambulence. She was fine though!  Now that she is gone, that is one more really funny, good memory they have of their grandmother.

A Marine squad was marching north of Fallujah when they came upon an Iraqi terrorist who was badly injured and unconscious. On the opposite side of the road was an American Marine in a similar but less serious state. The Marine was conscious and alert and as first aid was given to both men, the squad leader asked the injured Marine what had happened. The Marine reported, "I was heavily armed and moving north along the highway here, and coming south was a heavily armed insurgent. We saw each other and both took cover in the ditches along the road. I yelled to him that Saddam Hussein was a miserable, lowlife scum bag, who got what he deserved. and he yelled back that Barack Obama is a lying, good-for-nothing, left wing Commie who isn't even an American. So I said that Osama Bin Laden dresses and acts like a frigid, mean-spirited lesbian! He retaliated by yelling, Oh yeah? Well, so does Nancy Pelosi!.
And, there we were, in the middle of the road, shaking hands, when a truck hit us." ;)

Barking dogs bother our daughter who lives here by us. She sent word by her husband to ask me to bring Ringo in the house at night because his barking wakes her up, and he will not listen to her!

It is really funny, I think, she hollars at Scooby from her house, 600 feet away, tells him to stop his barking, and he listens to her and stops barking! It is a more sensitive thing here when it gets close to bed time for them, and every time I hear barking I run to check it out to see if I can figure out why they are barking, and get them to stop. They bark at groundhogs in a rock pile not far away. They also bark at coyotes that walk within 150 feet of our house, and the dogs sound the alarm when they see coyotes walking past. If it is late, I just have to bring Ringo in the house, and then try to tell Scooby not to bark. Sometimes our daughter goes to bed at 8 or 8:30 p.m., so if there is much barking at all after that time, I just have to bring Ringo in. When Carol returns Ringo will go back home, and Carol can help me keep Scooby quiet after house, and if it bothers our daughter before that, she can always yell at him to stop barking. It kind of tickled me one day that our daughter was yelling at Scooby to stop barking, but it was Rand who was barking, so I just brought him in the house, and our daughter thought that Scooby paid attention to her and stopped barking.

Just a few minutes ago, Scooby was barking, so I went to look to see what he was barking about. He was looking at the ground and barking. He saw a large black stink bug, and he was barking at that bug! It was so funny!

Yes, Wayne the hardest job is going to be hauling the concrete blocks up the hill, and only because I'm not making special trips but just bringing block back when I have to go for other reasons, and that way it dosn't cost me a lot to bring them home. I thought rocks would be a good solution, but our daughter didn't like the idea of using rocks, so blocks it is, and yes, I always think about being careful with my back, because I don't like back pain! It will be nice to have it finished. I have all the railroad ties/posts set, and now I just need to line the space between the posts with concrete blocks, and set the wire panels on top of those, and then it will be a really nice fence, very secure, with heavy wire, and a little taller than what we have now! :D :D
