That is good Red, that she is picky and is going to go after the best for her, and God is helping here, so that is wonderful!

Today was a very hard working day for me! I put in my first full day this season digging in the cellar. I have changed to carrying dirt out of the cellar using 2, 5 gallon buckets. I found that 2 of those 5 gallon buckets full of dirt are too heavy for me to carry. I guess I thought they would weigh about what sawdust would, not really, but I didn't expect them to be that heavy. I load them each about 2/3 to 3/4 full of dirt, and that is plenty heavy for me to carry up out of the cellar. I always wonder why I am not making any better progress until I get down there to dig, and then I remember. It is hardpan, very hard, rocks and gravel. I have decided to go smaller with the cellar, and so I will make it, I think? I have to stay motivated and use some of that discipline Crisi was talking about!    :D :D

Well, today was not quite as productive for me as yesterday, but I worked too hard yesterday, and I would not be able physically to keep that up day after day. I pushed too hard, and at the end of the day it seemed like I couldn't get any hardpan broken loose even with the rock bar! So I broke some easier stuff lose higher up, because I was too tired to chip the hard stuff lose. My back still felt good, and I was happy about that. Today I didn't work as hard, took more breaks, and played the piano longer! Saturday evening I made a special trip to town to get parts that my son-in-law forgot to pick up for our water system, and our daughter was so happy about that, that she baked me a peach pie, and that was nice, and it was wonderfully delicious! Carol is helping me eat it, as our daughter did not put extra sugar in it, just what was in the canned peaches, so that is fun. I had mine in a bowl with the piece of pie covered with milk! :D :D :D :D

Red, you should come over and eat some before it is gone!!!! Carol already had it figured out how long it would last, that is if the neighbors don't come over to eat some! I heard someone say that he only liked his pies 2 ways, hot or cold!    Peach pie is my favorite, then apricot pies are good too, so are apple pies, cherry pies, actually any kind of pie you mention is good!

Yes, Red all pies are good, but some are so rich that you can't eat very much of the pie! Peacon and Walnut pies are like that, and some others as well. Raisin pies my mother used to make and they are very good! She made a lot of mencemeat pies, and even some mock mencemeat pies made out of green tomatoes. Even the very rich pies, you have to have a little piece, but don't get carried away eating a lot or you will be sick!

I did not sleep well last night for two reasons. One is that all of a sudden it is getting hot at night. The sudden change is difficult, otherwise it would be okay. The other reason is that the night before I had a tick biting me, and when I got out of bed I couldn't find that tick. This is tick season, and I have had a number of them on my body already. My doggie Rand gets them, and then they go from him to me. I pulled two ticks off him last night, so maybe I got them before they got me. Last night all through the night I would wake up imagining that I had ticks on me! My great grandmother, my mother's Dad's mother died just two miles from here from a tick bit where the top of her spine connects to her head. I don't worry about that as it is unlikely to happen to any of the rest of us, but it did happen to her. I usually feel them crawling on my skin, and then I get them. They are hard to find on the dog and even harder to get as he does not like for anyone to search his body for ticks. When I pet him, I can usually feel a little bump where the ticks, and then I get it no matter how evasive he is. It is a favor for him, but he doesn't realize that. He just thinks "Why is he picking on me!"

Today I got out of bed, and I think I wrote a few things on the forum. Then after cleaning up and getting ready for my day, Carol got up a little later. I wait to play the piano until after she is awake and out of bed. She tells me that my piano playing does not bother her, and I can play anytime. She has changed her tune, because she used to complain about it, and she would ask me if I could take a break. Even though she says I can play anytime I try not to play when I know she is sleeping. So I played the piano while she was getting breakfast. Carol requires more sleep than she should, but she claims that she needs that much sleep to function, so it is okay with me. Because of the sleep she requires we eat breakfast somewhat late in the morning. Then I spent all day digging in my cellar, except for a long lunch break, and several breaks when I played the piano. I am trying to be disciplined, but the work is so hard that I have to take rest breaks to be able to do it. The first day I worked at it this spring, I went at it hard enough so that I hurt my back, but it recovered quickly. I went to town the next day to pick up a water pump because I didn't think my back would allow me to dig anyway. I worked too hard last Monday. I went at it too steady, and pushed until I was played out, tired out, tuckered out, exhausted. I have not been able to work that hard since, and I have been pacing myself, not going at it pell mell. I have to have all my digging finished by August first, and then my son-in-law who lives here beside us is going to help me with the construction of the walls, and put the water system in it, so that will be nice, and I am looking forward to that. In the mean time I am going to have to work harder and steadier than I want to, but that is okay, it will only last for a little more than a couple of months!    :D :D

My day this day is going well! I didn't get up very early as I try to fit into Carol's schedule, and she sleeps all night, then until 9:30 or 10 a.m., then she spends a lot of her day taking naps. It really bothers her that she does that, but she can't help, and she doesn't know why she requires so much sleep, but if she doesn't get it her day is ruined, so I am glad that she is able to sleep when she needs to. I usually get up fairly early, clean up, shave, then I get on the interent, write posts, and look at facebook until she gets up. Then I play the piano until breakfast is ready. I play one or two hymns after breakfast then I go to work. My work is so hard that I have to take a lot of breaks, which I spend playing the piano, unless she is listening to her music, in which case I get on to write a post or two, or maybe on facebook. I am just a little behind my schedule because what I am getting done today, I thought I would have completed by yesterday evening, but the work is so hard that I am just accepting the slow progress and doing the best I can. Carol is now sleeping and she has her music going, so I am doing this rather than disturbing her sleep. I am doing okay. I am about ready to start digging endways instead of sideways, and that is progress. All but the bottom 3 feet or so I expect to go fairly easy as it is not as hard, hardpan. I will know shortly, but I am expecting some easy digging for a while, and then it is back to the hard stuff!      :D :D :D Okay my break is over!

I was planning to go home yesterday but it did rain so I went back to the apartment. It is okay at least I rested after work and relax. Many people came over the office and I am thankful that no one is rude and they are all very nice. it really pays to be nice too. As what the saying goes, respect begets respect so be nice and kind and they will give you that, too.

Planning to go home again today I hope I can spend time at home. i really miss my flowers and fruits trees in there. I miss also the chicken and the dogs. I want also to go on jogging at the drier. I really miss it. Today I plan to submit application to schools and universities here. Hope to get a part time teaching job at night after my work. Or weekends. I hope that God will provide me that. Also, I need to be ready also for the upcoming class opening for us teach elementary students and do the Junior Fire Marshal Class. It is so interesting and enjoying with kids. I really like doing teaching them.

I am glad, Crisi, that you stayed at your apartment because of the rain. It does not pay to get out in it and then end up sick because of that! I am glad that people were nice to you at work, and you are right, when you are nice and smile other people respond in a similar way as well. It is bad when you have people who are rude to you. Jesus wants us to respond with kindness to people, and you are right in that kindness begets kindness. A soft answer turneth away wrath. I hope that works out for you, Crisi, to have your evening teaching job, and I also hope and pray that God will give you the strength for that. Your apartment is nice for you, and answers a need, but it is really nice for you to be home among your flowers, animals, and fruit trees, huh? Our daughter down over the hill inbetween two towns has a rooster and 2 hens, and Carol is going to get her another hen when she can. She has a fun border Collie named Ringo, she has a horse named Dude, and a big talking bird, Wally. With the help of the Lord she has literally been delivered from death and abuse, and is doing great, praying and attending church, which is a switch for her. She hasn't gone to church for years and years, but she knows that the Lord has delivered her, and we don't have to talk her into going, but she is ready, willing, and wanting to go to church and we are so thankful after she has lived the other way for too long. It is really nice, Crisi, when your dogs love you! :D :D :D :D
