I told you about my day yesterday. I was so tired that I fell asleep trying to read in the dentist's waiting room while Carol was in getting her teeth attended to. Yesterday was such a long day that it nearly played Carol out, and I didn't think she was ever going to get out of bed. So, I was a little late getting at my cellar work, but because of a day off yesterday I felt like working harder today, so it all worked out. I found that I didn't need any breaks, except for enough time to drink some water, so that I would not get dehydrated. I am hoping that I will have enough time to dig through all that hardpan rocks and gravel, and I am going to keep digging and believing. :D :D :D :D

My day is just about to end, and when I say that, I mean it depends on how tired I am. It is 10 p.m. here and I usually don't go to bed until sometime just before midnight. I was feeling like I was about done, but then I am eating some chocolate with almonds, and I think it is giving me energy, so I may not turn in as early as I was thinking I might!

My plans for today were just to dig in my cellar as every day counts! There is a young lady, whom we know, graduating from high school, same time as our granddaughter, only different schools. She is graduating from where I attended and graduated, and our granddaughter is graduating from where my wife, Carol, attended and graduated. Anyway we were invited to her party. Carol went to the spinning, knitting, weaving guild, so I went down, picked up our daughter and her daughter, our granddaughter, and went to the party. Because Carol was going to the guild, we got around earlier, so I got to digging earlier, so I managed to get a quite a bit done, even though I had to quit at noon, to get ready to go to the party. It was a lot of fun, and we ate a lot, as there was a lot of wonderful food. I ate a hamburger with 2 slices of tomato, lettuce, inions, and was it ever good! We had fruit salads of various kinds, and ended it with carrot cake which was delicious. I got to see a fellow that I hadn't seen since high school days. He told me that he heard about me and what I was doing from his daughter who was working the same place we were, but we didn't know there was any connection. We were good friends with this young lady, never knowing her connection with this guy I attended high school with! We had a lot of fun there, and I saw other people that I had not seen for years! Our granddaughter got to be with kids from a Youth Group where she went while she was living with us, and so it was fun for her. Our daughter got to be with some of her good friends, and actually their last name is Good. They are musicians, have a recording studio, sing at local places, and play. The lady worked with our daughter at the hospital, both as nurses, our daughter, baby nurse, and this lady as floor nurse. We got to see their drummer that we have known since he was a little boy, knew his family, parents, brothers and sister, and we have not seen him in many years either! All these people are church people, and so being with them is uplifting and fun. :D :D :D :D

It was raining this morning, but the rain was light. I had a lot of dirt that I had broken loose the day before, so I decided to carry it out of the hole if I didn't get too wet. I kept warm enough from the exercise even though it was cold and rainy. I had a lot of dirt on the ledge, carried it all out, then broke more loose, carried it all out, then broke a little more loose and it was time to walk the doggies. I felt more ambitious to work today, maybe because I had yesterday, Sunday, off without working, and I rested a lot! I didn't take as long a lunch and rest break as I felt like getting back at it, and I knew I had dirt waiting to be carried out of the hole! :D :D :D :D

Yes, Red, God is good, and He does answer prayers. I am happy with you that things are going well for your siblings and for your opportunity! :D :D

This morning as I was getting ready to go to work in my cellar it looked like rain, and it actually did sprinkle just a little before I got out to work. The first thing I had to do was to dip and carry water out of the hole, as a quite a bit of rain water had built up. That went fairly quickly, and then I started using the rock bar to chip more hardpan and rocks loose. Our daughter came over about that time, so I went up into the house to visit with her for a little while. Then it was time to eat, so after eating I rested just a little, but I didn't need as much rest as sometimes, so I went back out, chipped some more, carried dirt out in the 5 gallon buckets, 2 of them, but only about 2/3 full, so they would not be too heavy. Then I chipped more, but then it was time to walk the doggies, and now I am just finishing eating! :D :D :D :D

Well, Carol was tired this morning, so she didn't get up until almost 10 a.m.! She doesn't know why she has to sleep so much. She slept all night too, but if she needs it, it is good that she is free to sleep! I don't get started until I have breakfast, and Carol was pretty late getting breakfast, so I started working late. I had a lot of dirt to haul out of the cellar. It was lightly sprinkling rain, but not enough to get me very wet, although when I came in for the mid day meal, I was wet enough that I got cold, so I went back to work to get warm! By then it was raining hard, so I stayed under cover out of the rain, and used the rock bar to chip hardpan loose, which is really hard and slow work. I feel like I am never going to get finished, but I know I will. My son-in-law wants me to be finished with the digging by August 1st, because, we need to do concrete work, and cinder block mortor, so I need to be finished by then, because late in August it can start frosting, and shortly after we can start getting freezing weather, which will not work, for working with concrete and mortor. Sometimes I think I should be working harder, or putting in longer hours, but I'm not sure my body would hold up to it. I am doing fine, but at the end of my short physically strainious day I am tired. The rain gives me a break, that I really don't want, but it helps me in a way. I can work faster and harder after the needed break that I really don't want. I want to keep pushing so that I can get finished. I have hardened in to it, so that I can work much harder than when I first started! I didn't walk the doggies this evening, because I didn't want to get caught out in the rain, and then get wet! That happened one evening, and Carol came with the van, and picked up me and the doggies. The big doggie, Scooby, found a sandwich that one of our granddaugthers didn't eat, and Carol and our daughter wondered what happened to it, but Scooby has a good nose, and he can smell anything out!      :D :D :D

This morning, many people came over at the office. I always had encountered people who are easily get angered and keep on asking why they need to pay in the fire department that in fact they already pay all the fees and taxes in the Local Government Unit?

Since, I am the client relation officer, I need to talk to them first hand when they come to office. I keep on explaining to them about the new Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Fire Code of the Philippines 2008 which was implemented last 2010. Yes, there is a Fire Safety Inspection Certificate Fee cost 100 pesos paid to LGU but that is Local Ordinance. I always tell them to ask about that to the LGU why there is that kind of fee while effective 2010, all fire code fees, will be collected and remitted by the Fire Personnel to the Bureau of Treasury.

I really have a hard time and I always pray to ask God for patience about these things. Sometimes, they want their permits to be approved in fire department even it needs ocular inspection. Sometimes, they will ask so many questions why there are so many requirements in the fire department. Sometimes they really get scared of why it needs to be inspected. I always do the explanation and keep them calm. I explain to them that the reason to have the ocular inspection by the fire department because that is the way we can prevent any fire incident that would happen. I always explain to them that, it is for their own good why it needs to be inspected so that if just in case of fire happens, exits obstructed by things or anything will be cleared out. Or if there is a need to put or install fire fighting devices in accordance to RA 9514 (Fire Code of the Philippines), then at least, we can feel ease of less fire incident to occur. So hard to always explain all these things especially when they are so rude. :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Today we got around in fairly good time, and got breakfast eating early enough so that I got an early start working, and I thought I was going to have a good day getting something done. I dipped water out of the cellar, as it rained a lot! Then I started carrying dirt out of the cellar hole, and it started raining enough so that I decided I should go inside. By the time I cleaned out the water, and carried a little dirt out, it was time to each the mid day meal anyway. We started watching a movie while eating, and our medical clinic called and told us that Carol's insulin had arrived. I was told on the telephone by this company that it would arrive the 14th or 15th. Well, it arrived the 8th instead, so we went to town immediately as insulin must be refrigerated so that it will keep in good condition. When we got there picked up the insulin, we went to our daughter's place and hung our with her for a while, going to a store with her and our granddaughter. We had supper with them, and then came home. I was sleepy, and had trouble keeping from falling asleep on the road. I did go to sleep briefly and crossed over into the turn lane, and our daughter slapped me on the back, so I woke up right away before I crossed over headon into the coming traffic. I am way too tired; too much hard work, but it will not last forever! When we got home I carried the dirt out of the cellar that I was not able to earlier because of needing to go to town, so it was a good day. Carol has been out collecting plants and flowers, wild, bringing them in and cooking them down to use for dyeing yarn. It has been a good day! :D :D :D :D

My mom is coming over to stay the night tonight. My grass needs mowing bad, but I don't want to go outside and mow it yet because it has been raining every day for a week solid and it is so wet. I was hoping for a day of dryness, but I'm looking outside right now and it just started raining again! This worries me a little because I got a notice from the housing association about my yard a while ago and next inspection will be a fine. Trust me I'm not lazy with my yard. It's just a bunch of bad timing and things. I'll try to get out there and mow just the front if I can catch a break.

I went bowling last night with a bunch of friends from the office. I was thinking.. I wish people would come pay me to clean my gutters out so often like that. I'm talking about my bowling ability

I try not to mow when it is raining. We don't really have a lawn as such, but just weeds and wild grasses that get tall and are a fire hazard if they are not mowed, so I mowed not long ago. Our daughter in town got her grass mowed, and it looks so nice. Our kids who live here are short on hay for their animals now, so they get out there, mow, catch the grass in their lawn mower grass catchers, and then feed it to the animals. Someone told them that it is fine to feed that to the animals as long as they feed it as soon as they mow, and that is what they do. They even mow in the rain, when it is raining, because they are desparate to have feed for goats and cows. I would not mow when it is raining, unless I lived where it rained all the time, or if I were about to get into trouble as you are with notices of possible fines if you don't mow.

Gutter bowling; that is interesting. I've not done hardly any bowling in all my life. I have been bowling just a few times, and I could count the times on one hand. When I was growing up bowling was one of the sins that we were to avoid. I went once with friends in high school. Then I went when I was in Bible College, as the College had no restrictions against bowling, and they didn't consider it a sin. I think I went once since then. I think bowling could be fun, but I don't care about going. I have a damaged right wrist/hand from a horse accident when I was 21 years old, and I think the weight of the ball would stress my right hand/wrist too much. I loose feeling in it after working with it for a while, like a screw driver, shovel, bar, hammer, wood splitting axe, or any other hand tool. What do I do? Well when I need to do something, I do it, and then I can't play the piano as much because my hand loses feeling after about 2 songs! If I am not working hard, holding hand tools, I can play the piano for hours. Just typing causes the loss of feeling, although not as badly as piano playing. I think it is the spreading of my fingers, stretching, and wrist movements necessary while playing the piano that do that.    :D :D
