I was dressing up my daughter for school. I told her Christmas is approaching, she told me " mommy, i want gifts on Christmas." I said that she will have some. Then she said " mommy, hohohoo will give me gifts too?" I was wondering "what's hohohoo?" So i thought maybe she meant Santa Claus.

I go over to visa journey site sometimes and read for the fun of it. I like to read the stories of people working on their visas, and what is happening to them. They have to wait sometimes a long time to get their loved ones in this country, and then some of them make mistakes which costs them time, and they have to wait longer. Sometimes the people interviewing are mean which is sad. Some people do things that make immigration difficult to impossible.

I read this one story that was funny in a way if you have a weird sense of humor, which I do, but was really sad in reality. The jist of the story was that this young man who was a pinoy himself, as his parents came to the USA from the Philippines, and he was born and raised here, so even though his parents were filipino, he has taken on the American values, and had gotten completely away from his filipino culture.

He among other things had an anger problem, and his parents were against the young filipina and her ways even though they were filipinos. Long story short he brought her to this country to marry her, and said in the post he was ready to call it quits. He was really angry with her and her family back in the Philippines, and said that she was not the princess that he had met. At one point he told one of the posters to shut up because they were schooling him on filipino culture, and he told them that he was full blood panoy himself, "so shut up," he said. I think he has problems with anger for the main thing. They were not even married yet and he caught her on zoom trying to send his money to her family in the Philippines, and that really frosted him. Then he said that she ran up his Sprint telephone bill to $900.00, and he was angry with her over that. He was also mad because her father, who has been dead for a year, said that it was the filipinas job to take care of the money, so he should hand over all of his paychecks to her. Then he was supposed to replace someone's floor tile in the Philipines, he was suppose to start businesses for 2 others of her relatives, and he was suppose to pay college bills for some of them, and others that I can't remember right now.

He said that he was sick of her, and she had only been with him for 3 weeks. He tried to talk to her, and I would guess from the kind of person he was he was probably yelling at her. Anyway she would not listen, but instead would call him bad names, and walk off, leave the house and go for a walk. He said that he felt like throwing a chair across the room. The reason I post this in the joke section is that reading it was like watching a good movie, except it was 2 people's lives and in reality very sad. I felt very sorry for both of them. What is my opinion; I think after spending all that time and money to get her into this country for the purpose of marriage he should have had a very friendly discussion with her trying to compromise and work things out. I don't think they should have given up so easily because both of them have lost a lot. :)

that is a very sad story :( :( :( its a sad reality for Filipinos that whenever their daughter marries a foreigner they obliged their daughter to support them..and with regards to this story, I can say that its the girl's fault not to be able to have their relationship work..and she shouldn't have obliged her husband do things for their relatives ..that's really insane..money in the us is difficult as it is her in the pi..the only difference is the value of their money here in the Philippines..and yea, she was suppose to consult her husband regarding money matters instead of using his zoom account to send money to her relatives...

That story is the exception rather than the rule. I think 99.9 percent of the young ladies are genuine and do what is right. I think the men are better off with jaderune's ladies and then getting to know them well helps both the man and the young lady to grow to trust each other and have a good understanding. I personally think the Christian enfluence here in jaderune helps too. I think that when both the man and the young lady are committed Christians there can be an added trust because no good Christian would want to hurt anyone else, at least that is the way it is supposed to be and the whole teaching of Jesus for the way people should live.

Our good friend Al that I went to the Philippine's with, he and his filipina wife Claire. He and his wife both work here near us. We got to know him as he was the post office master at Stehekin where we lived and worked for 10 years. He moved first, and then we moved later, both of us to each side of the Okanogan Valley. He moved to the West side, and we moved to the East side. We are close enough that we get together periodically for dinners to visit and have fun. He is the post master in the little community in the mountains where he lives, and his filipina wife, Claire, works at an assisted living care center. He pays the bills with his money, and he helps send some to Claire's family in the Philippine, and Claire sends all her money to her family in the Philippines. They purchased a large lot on the shore of Negros Oriental, and they contracted Claire's brother to build them a house, and he has done a wonderful job building a house that anyone would be proud to live in. Al told me that they needed to send support to her family, and he thought it was best to pay them to work for them, and it has turned out really well. Claire's brother takes a personal interest in the beauty of the place, and it is a source of pride for him, and he should be proud also of the job he has done. He also takes it upon himself to keep everyone safe, including Al, Claire, and me while I was with them. Only one of her brothers is well off, and the rest of them brothers and sisters are fairly poor, but they are wealthy in that they know how to live and enjoy life. They are really good people, the best, and they would never take unfair advantage of anyone. I really like them, the whole bunch of them. :D :D :D :D

.An English professor was reading The Canterbury Tales to his class and noticed that a student had fallen asleep. Annoyed, he sent the book spinning through the air and bouncing off the boy's head.
Startled awake, the student asked what had hit him.
"That," said the professor "was a flying Chaucer."
