PM Issues?

Postby brat4300 » Mon Feb 28, 2011 9:36 pm

Michael,

I sent you another PM in response to the one from yesterday but it is stuck in the outbox? Any ideas as to why?

I emailed you the same message at the hotmail acct also... hoping to hear your feedback and thanks again for your help.

Hi Steve, I can answer that question even though my name is not Michael.

The PM on this sight works differently than other e-mail type programs. When you write a PM and address it to someone, say for instance Michael or anyone else that you decide to PM, it goes in the outbox, and it stays there until it is picked up by the person to whom it is addressed. So you send a PM to someone, then it sits in the outbox until that person clicks on it to read your PM, after that it disappears from the Outbox, and that person has it in their inbox. Then to see what you sent you simply go to the sent file, and it will show that PM as having been sent. I hope that clarifies this for you. This has puzzled other people also, so you are not the lone ranger. :D :D :D

I thought I was going nuts... so it is like a read receipt in sorts... When they fetch and read it then it comes out of your outbox and you know they read it. I guess that makes sense now. Thanks for cluing me in Edwin, you are the bomb. :D

You are welcome, Steve, and you have no control over that part. If it is someone who doesn't have regular access to the internet it could test your patience wondering when they will receive and read it. I think in almost all cases these people would like to read and respond right away, but sometimes that is impossible. They get to the internet when they can get to the internet. I think once you get to know someone then you can find out what there access to the internet is. Then once you get to know them that well, you can make arraingements for cell phone communication, or whatever else you can figure out, and there are a number of options. I don't really know a lot about that part of it, but there are people on here that know everything there is to know about it, and they can clue you in. I have a special calling card to call to the Philippines, and my wife, Carol, has a brother in the Philippines, but I can't get her to use it. Sometime I will encourage her to talk with him on it. It has to be used once a year to keep from losing it. If I understood right once you use it you can't go more than a year again without using it, or then you lose it.

Well I had an issue come up and was discussing it with Michael and I'm trying to get it resolved with him now too... I sent a message to him this morning to respond to his and it was still sitting in the outbox so I was thinking it wasn't getting out to him hence the post here.

Yes, someone else was confused a quite a long time ago about the way this works, and it was discussed, and that is how I learned about it. They were concerned that same as you that there message was stuck in the out box, but that is just the way it works. :D :D

I do eventually open my message box, and go through them, and respond to those that require it. The best way to get my immediate attention is to send me an email to jaderune@hotmail.com

Those get read everyday, and sometimes the PM's only get read every few days. :D
