It began in 2000, and in only a few years has spread to more than 200 nations as millions of Christians gather to pray together. There is a 90 day period of time following the Global Day of Prayer that Christians are encouraged to go out into their communities, and help the poor in a season of service.

That is wonderful to have the Philippine Independence Day also be the Global Day of Prayer! That is great that there are so many nations involved in it now!
