The Spring Sweepstakes will be for three prizes of 2000 pesos each, paid out on April 30, 2012 in Php by a Western Union money transfer. Prize amounts may increase between start of Sweepstakes and the drawing date.

Rules are:
(1) All posts on the forum will count as one entry.
(2) If you win and you are a filipina, then you will be paid the money.
(3) If you win and you are not a filipina, then the prize will be paid to Bahay Ni Sto. Tomas, which is a Home for Unwed Mothers located in Davao City. This Home is a special project of People's Hope Foundation. I visited this Home in 2010, and met with the Director and the managing sociologist as well as the girls who were in residence at the time.
(4) Site Administrator (Michael) will keep track of the number of posts you make on the Forum between December 29, 2011 and April 28, 2012. Cut-off time for entries will be at midnight, April 28, 2012, Central Standard Time in the US. Each 30 word (or more) post will be counted as one entry, and entered under your name. Drawing will be within 48 hours of cutoff time, and winners notified by email and by forum announcement at that time. Payment will be made ASAP after the drawing.
(5) All posts will count as one entry. Multiple posts per day ARE allowed, so if you maKe ten posts in one day, then you will get ten entries for that day. Any post that is less than 30 words will not be counted, because you need to make a realistic contribution to the forum, and not just be writing a few meaningless, nonsensical words to earn an entry.
(6) Void where prohibited. (which has never been an issue previously)

If I am luck enough to win I would be very happy to see the money go to this worthy cause.I suspect that this organization is ,like many others ,underfunded. The idea of helping someone that I will never meet to be somehow appealing.

I am counting down the days for the drawing date. It is a lot of help if I win in this forum. I would be glad to reply to many topics here or make my own topic so that I will have many entries, which mean, more chances for me to win. So guys, please post often because it is already a month to go. Good luck to all of us, may the one who win deserves best! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

One thing is for sure. People who come to the Forum, and read the posts, and never write any posts of their own, will not win anything because they have to enter to win, and the only way to enter is to write a post or start a new Topic.
Thanks to all of you who are posting, and giving all of the readers something to do. hehehe

if I will post and write I willl given a chance to win? Anyone who will write will win if they write a letter here. That is a good idea about this and will just write and win.

lie_ta, the way this works is that every time you write a post of 30 words or more, Sir Michael, the owner of this forum puts your name in the bucket. If you write 10 posts in a day of 30 words or more, you get your name put in the bucket 10 times. The people who write more times get their name put in the bucket more often. The drawing is at the end of this week, so it is almost finished. The more times you have your name in the bucket the more apt you are to win. It is not too late for you to write posts of 30 words or more, and have a chance to have your name drawn. If you don't win, or I don't win at least we have had fun writing posts. When Sir Michael announces the next drawing, then started writing posts, as many as you are able to write. The more you write the more apt you are to win. :D :D :D :D

Yes, the sweepstakes entry is a great idea. It is good that you have to write 30 words or more for an entry because that adds some substance to this discussion. It used to be that you only had to send the owner a PM, and you were limited to one each day, but this is the second sweepstakes that you can enter as many times each day as you wish, but you just have to write 30 words or more in order for it to qualify as an entry. This encourages people to participate and that is good! :D :D :D :D

It can have an unusual twist though. I have actually made some posts SHORTER, because I do not really want to take the money from a Filipino, to whom it would be more precious. OOPS 36 :(

Actually, the way I understand this is that if a filipina wins, she gets the money. If a western guy wins there is a home for unwed mothers in Davao that will get the money. So I think either way it is good. If I would win I would like to specify a filipina to get the money, but I understand the rules, and however it works out is fine. I like it that writing is encouraged with these sweepstake's entries. :D :D :D :D
