Frequently when I log on the site I see the list of members online .Sometimes there are quite a few. Most of the usernames seem to just be some random letters and numbers.Does anybody else ever notice this? Who are these people and why don`t they ever say Hi or anything?

Smiley, I don't Know the answer to your question for sure. I do know that a long time ago when I first came on here I read anonymously for a period of time before I showed my face. I read as a guest, and then I registered, and kept reading without commenting or anything. One of the reasons I was slow getting started is that I am married, and I didn't want to do something that I shouldn't be doing. After a short time, I figured out that it could just be fun to respond to people's post, start my own posts, and ask some questions periodically. I think more people should come out of the woodwork and participate. I think there are enough interesting subjects expressed here that should motivate people to participate.

I agree with Edwin here. When I first started visiting this forum I was single but I would only watch and read. Now I participate and I enjoy it. I don't have alot of time to be on here with being married now and a baby on the way tho.

Maybe it is time to start sending them private messages and ask "who is this please?"

Yes, you are right, Red. Well, if they do not want to join here, maybe they are not having fun at all. THe best way is to say hello and hi to them and tell them to join.

Maybe they are not interested and just want to read here.

I consider this forum as my pastime. People who registered here with different user names should have read the postings first and if they find it fun and interesting then decide to join/register. But then, it is their choice they can register when they want.

Yes, Red and Crisi, people should get on here and find out just how much fun it is to read, post, and repsond to posts. You are right all we can do is try to encourage them to do that. Reading is fun, but it is more fun to interact with other people. And people who are hoping to make friends, this is the best place to express ideas and exchange ideas. Some may be afraid of it I don't know, but there is nothing to be afraid of. None of us bite, very hard anyway! We may bark!

I have lots of barking lately cough

You know the saying, "The bark is worse than the bite?" Well, all a huge dog has to do is show his teeth, growl, and bark loudly, and most people are frightened to death. It is kind of funny to see a large dog in the back of a pickup truck driving through town, and a lady bent over unlocking her car, and the dog barking loudly as the pickup truck drives by. My grandson and I were following that pickup truck, and it was so funny to see that woman get startled. I will tell you she straighten up in a hurry, shocked, as the pickup and the dog went by!

Wow, we had about half a page of members whose birthday was today, and I didn`t see one name I recognised
