After I got home I had to unload the tools I had on my truck for building fence. Then put some plywood down on my truck floor bed, so the horse will not be so apt to slip on the metal floor. When I was a kid we hauled one of our horses on an iron pickup truck bed; 1947 Ford 1/4 or 1/2 ton, flathead, six cylander engine, 4 speed, shift on the floor. That horse never did slip, but she was used to riding, and she would lean on the curves just like she was riding a motorcycle. I came in and ate some homemade granola, and boy was it good with milk. Actually I'm starved for milk, being gone all day long, so I am drinking a little more of it! :D :D :D :D

I have an easy way to keep the time difference figured. It only works in this Pacific Time Zone. When we are in Day light savings time, you go all the way around the clock, and then add 3 hours. When we are in Standard time you go all the way around the clock and then add 4 hours. For instance, at this time it is about 8:47 p.m., and at this time it is 11:47 a.m., the next day. It is Saturday evening here, and in the Philippines it is Sunday just before noon. What you have to do is communicate this time of the day when it is morning in the Philippines, or communicate in the early morning when it is evening in the Philippines. If you are not care you will catch someone in the middle of night, or you will try to reach them when they are at work in the middle of their day. It takes a bit of figuring to get it correct!

Well, it is just 5 minutes away from the deadline for posting in connection with the Sweepstakes Entries, so here goes, and this is about it. It does seem strange that at times it is relatively busy here, and then times like now it seems that I am the only one on here. Now is just after people are getting home from church and before their mid day meal, so that explains part of that. I had to be gone for a while 2 different days 2 days apart this week, so other people were probably wondering where I was. There was on time that Smiley wondered where every one was. We are here at times when we can be here, and then at other times we are not. I think the Sweepstakes have provided a great encouragement for people to get on here and post! :D :D :D :D

Smiley started this thread on a night like this I think. The message says that I and zero guests are browsing this forum! I know that people have things that obligate their time, and they can't always be on here. There are times when we are away from home, and it is not convinient to use a computer/the internet. Then the time zone differences were given as a possible reason why this forum seems so quiet at times. If I am not mistaken the USA has 4 time zones. I am in the Pacific Northwest, so this time of the year we are on Pacific Daylight Time. The time in the Philippines is 15 hours ahead of our time. So figuring the time in the Philippines is easy. I just go around the 12 hour clock, say from 8 a.m. our time to 8 p.m., and then I add 3 more hours to that, making it 11 p.m. in the Philippines. So early morning for me is only one hour before mid night in the Philippines. That means to connect I have to be up early, and the person in the philippines has to be up late. Beyond that time, most people in the Philippines are in bed and asleep. Late hours for me are early hours for a person in the Philippines. Now say a person in Florida is 12 hours earlier than the Philippines, so 4 a.m. for a person in Florida is 4 p.m. for the person in the Philippines. It is probably more difficult for a person on the West Coast to connect with someone in the Philippines than it would be for a person on the East Coast to connect with a person in the Philippines. Where there is a will, there is a way, and people do find ways and time to connect.

So, people might not see my posts immediately, but they will see them. Then they will get on and post, and I might not see their posts until hours later, but I will see them, and then I will post. :D :D :D :D

I know what Smiley meant because it seems I am the only person on this forum presently. There are several possible reasons. Everyone has things they have to do at times and can't be here. That has been my case at times also. While I was in the Philippines in 2010 I didn't have easy access to the internet, so I was not on the forum at that time for 2 weeks. Then we have the time zone differences. Where I live we are 15 hours different from the Philippines. It is presently here 11:12 p.m., Saturday evening, while in the Philippines it 2:12 p.m., Sunday afternoon. We all connect when we can. I am going to church in the morning, so I think I will head for bed!    :D :D

I am going to echo Smiley's post from sometime back, "Where is everybody?" It think it is echoing here in this room! Actually the reality is that everyone can't post all the time, so there are bound to be lulls. It is 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, approximately, here where I live, but in the Philippines it is 12:30 a.m. Friday evening and all descent people are in bed and asleep! Actually I am just joking, because there are reasons at times that people are up at all hours of the night, and that does not mean they are not descent; it is just a saying. Anyway there are reasons sometimes that people are not on here, and later they will all come hear each writing their posts. This is a little pep talk about participating in the forum. For all the people lurking, reading, jump in and post, and we will all love to see you here!    :D :D
