Watching TV is perhaps the most common way of relaxation. In fact, Television is one of a powerful tool. By means of it, we learn about lands & peoples we may never visit. We travel to tropical jungles & polar ice caps, ocean depths etc. It also enables us to watch the news as it happens on the other side of the globe. We gain a lot of insight into politics, history, current events & cultures all over the world. It also enables us to learn the different aspect of peoples lives both tragedy & triumph. It also entertains & inspires us. Most of all makes us aware of what is happening around us.
But, have you ever notice the total number of hours you spend in front of the television? If not, ok let’s say, you spent about 4 hours a day watching TV from Monday to Friday & 8 hours on Saturday & Sunday. At the age of 60 years old, you spent a more or less 12 years in front of the TV. Yet, when you died no one will ever dare to write on your tomb saying “ Here comes blahblah who spent 1/3 of his/her life whatching TV.”
Likewise, being addicted to TV is far more much better compared to being addicted to drugs.
