Off To California

Our youngest daughter has friends in Northern California, so Wednesday she and her 18 year old daughter are heading to California to be there for almost two weeks. She wants to go before her daughter starts college classes. She is taking the prereqs for the nursing program. Our daughter is a registered nurse, so it will be like our granddaughter will have her own private tutor! Carol is going to stay at their house and take care of their animals while they are gone. I will be home alone again, but their house is close enough so that I can go down the hill to town to where Carol will be any time I want. It takes just an hour to drive down there. It is only 25 miles or so, but half that distance the roads are rock, gravel, very rough this time of the year, so we can't drive very fast. Carol will be taking care of 2 dogs, one yellow crown amazon bird that talks and whistles tunes, and the type whistle you do when you see a pretty girl! He is a boy bird, so it is natural that he would whitle at the girls! She will also take care of the horse, and he is a good old fellow that loves everyone. There are also 2 hens and one rooster!
