More Sex Is Healthy

Sex is healthy for married couples anyway. I don't get it as often as I want it, but I am told that I get it more than some men, which isn't much comfort if you want it more. I have had a really difficult time dealing with this, as well as not being slept with, and the cuddling and touching is absent. I think it has a lot to do with my wife's diabetes, and if she just doesn't want to then I am mad at her about that, but if it is her diabetes then I have to understand that. I have decided that the right thing to do is to stick it out and do what is right. So I just talk with the Lord about that, and He will help me with it. Here is an interesting article I found off from Yahoo News about more sex being healthy:

Picture this: It's Tuesday night and you just got home from work after dealing with your crazy boss and a 30-minute commute. You throw on sweats, and head to the kitchen to see what your guy's cooking (he looks exhausted too). Then it's dinner, TV and -- what do you know -- time to brush your teeth and get ready for bed. Not exactly foreplay, unless your idea of getting sexed up includes spitting into the same sink. But here's the thing: Failing to get over the honey-I-have-a-headache hurdle can hurt your relationship -- and your health. Here are nine surprising benefits of sex that go beyond the obvious orgasm.
1 You'll feel richer Married people -- who, let the record show, have an average of 30 percent more sex than singles -- can be just as happy as they would be earning an extra $100,000 a year by having sex on a regular basis. Says who? The National Bureau of Economic Research. The way it works is the more sex you have, the happier you'll be, and that happiness is what makes you content with what you've got rather than lusting after a BMW.

2 You'll save those sick days Sex once or twice a week boosts levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA), which is what helps ward off cold and flu viruses, among others. Researchers at Wilkes University found that out of 111 participants ages 16 to 23, those who had sex once or twice a week showed a 30-percent increase in their IgA levels, giving them more protection from getting sick. Just something to think about when you take your vitamins every morning and pack that hand-sanitizer in your purse.

3 You'll be happier This sounds a bit nasty, but semen might actually be good for you. Your guy's mojo is loaded with nutrients like zinc, calcium, protein, and more, which your vagina absorbs during sex. In a recent study of students at the State University of New York at Albany, researchers found women who had sex sans condoms were less depressed than those who used rubbers. There might be some unfriendly variables there, but either way, there's also proof that orgasms make both men and women feel less stressed and generally happier.

4 You'll be more likely to conceive You passed sixth-grade health, so you know that having sex can, uh, get you pregnant. And of course, the more sex you have, the higher your chances are of seeing two pink lines. But did you also know that doing the deed won't just up your chances of getting pregnant by sheer odds, it'll also make your guy more fertile? A team of Australian researchers found that out of 118 men with damaged sperm, 81 percent showed a decrease in the number of "bad sperm" after having sex every day for a week. The thinking goes that regular sex gets sperm out of the body faster -- and since sperm's quality diminishes the longer it's in the body, it's actually in your guy's best interest (and yours, if you're trying to conceive) to, well, clean out his pipes.

5 You'll sleep better When you have an orgasm, your body produces a hormone called oxytocin, making you feel warm and fuzzy all over (you know, kinda like a little love buzz). You also release endorphins, nature's sedative, which explains why you feel so relaxed (as in, ready for a big ol' snooze) after getting it on. The combination of these chemicals surging through your body is enough to make you crash in a major way, and this is especially true for men. So don't be offended if your guy isn't up for an hour of post-sex cuddling. That move you just did was about the equivalent of a Tylenol PM.

6 You'll look younger If you're spending hundreds of dollars on skin creams every year, you might want to rethink your strategy. Sex can actually make women appear 12 years younger than their true age, a little fact courtesy of Scotland's Royal Edinburgh Hospital. Their study went like this: Judges looked through a one-way mirror and estimated the ages of women on the other side. It turns out, the women who were perceived as being "super-young" happened to be having sex four times a week on average. And it's not a coincidence: Sex has been proven to boost estrogen levels, a key hormone for smooth skin and shiny hair (take that, Botox). So stop stressing out about that new sorta-kinda wrinkle developing on your forehead and hop in the sack instead.

7 You'll have a healthier heart It's the news guys everywhere have been waiting for: Giving blow jobs might just save women's lives. Yes, brace yourselves, ladies, because a Dutch study actually found that women who swallowed semen during oral sex had a lower risk of preeclampsia, a condition of high blood pressure that can be caused by pregnancy. Yes, really. Also, a British study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health showed that having sex at least twice a week could cut a man's chances of a fatal heart attack in half compared with men who only got it on less than once a month.

8 You'll feel more in love The oxytocin that's released during orgasm doesn't just boost your mood, it also makes you feel closer to your partner. The hormone, particularly for women, has a bonding effect, which tends to translate into many other areas of the relationship (ever notice how you feel all cuddly after doing it, and how much easier it is to be annoyed at him after a weeklong sex sabbatical?). And it isn't just sex. Simple touching or flirty foreplay can also trigger an increase in your levels of oxytocin, literally creating a chemical romance and a sense of mutual attachment. So even if you're not in the mood for full-on action, spend some time exchanging back massages or just getting cozy together on the couch.

9 You'll lose weight Well, sorta. Thirty minutes of sex can burn about 85 calories, although a particularly, shall we say, rigorous sex session can kill up to 200 calories (so figure you just saved yourself about 20 minutes on the treadmill -- or burned off a Pop-Tart). Plus, most sex positions require a certain level of flexibility -- your legs aren't going to just magically land on his shoulders -- while others work your ab, thigh, or arm muscles. Even the standby missionary position can help tone those biceps as long as you're the one on top. If you don't hit the gym quite as much as you planned this winter (funny how that happens, isn't it?), getting busy a few times a week can (and will) help keep you looking buff. Just, you know, try not to pull anything while you're at it!

There was a study done, and eight couples were asked how much sex is necessary to sustain a healthy marriage? The answers were all the way from every night to not very often. In this study the young couples were assigned to have sex every night for seven days straight to see whether having sex more often helped them to feel closer outside the bedroom. Some of the participants felt pressure, not really wanting to have sex every day, while others considered it fun, and felt no pressure at all. Some of them talked about sex during their free times, and others got involved in a little teasing and flirting with each other. Some set up a romantic atmosphere, by putting on lingerie, lighting candles, and playing music. They were asked how it went for them as the days went by to say the fourth day. Some said that they varied the way they had sex. One responded that they were exhausted with too much sex. They were asked how this assignment of having sex every day affected their behavior outside the bedroom. One said that there was no change, but all the others expressed being more passionate and loving towards each other as a result. Some said that they were more affectionate to each other, and more interested in sex. Most of the couples felt like they should have been having sex more than they were, and it added something positive to their lives. After the challenge study was finished all of them involved either remained just as enthused about sex, or they increased their enthusiasm for sex. :D :D

I found some informtion, for educational purposes only, on facebook, about the health benefits of having sex. Of course we are only going to advocate it within the bounds of marriage:

16 REASONS TO HAVE DAILY SEX: MUST READ & SHARE

(Eto po ay para sa mga open minded na tao lamang, at walang halong kabastusan. For educational purposes only)

...Stressed, burdened with life's difficult problems and fear that your health is declining? Then sex is the answer to happiness, longevity and a healthy body.

You don't agree?

Well, here is a list of the health benefits of sex, so do it daily to experience complete pleasure. These are 16 reasons to have sex today!

1. De-stress
Sex helps you reduce stress. When deep breathing exercises fail to de-stress you, sex will do the needful.

During sex your body produces dopamine, a substance that fights stress hormones, endorphins, aka "happiness hormones" and oxytocin, a desire-enhancing hormone secreted by the pituitary gland. In a study, published in the Public Library of Science journal, three neuroscience researchers conducted a test on male rats and found that the sexually active rats were less anxious than rats with no sexual activity.

2. Great Form of Exercise
Making love is a form of physical activity. During intercourse, the physiological changes in your body are consistent with a workout. You must have noticed that the respiratory rate rises, which means you get tired. Hence, you burn calories. If you have sex three times a week for 15 minutes (but we know you can do better than that) you'll burn about 7.500 calories in a year. That's the equivalent of jogging 75 miles! Heavy breathing raises the amount of oxygen in your cells, and the testosterone produced during sex keeps your bones and muscles strong.

3. Lowers high blood pressure
Hugs and sex can improve your blood pressure. Sex reduces diastolic blood pressure, that is, the bottom number while reading blood pressure.

Researchers with the University of Paisley conducted an experiment on the same. They concluded that sex improves blood pressure.

4. Builds your immunity
Trying to fight the sniffles? Sex is the answer to fight cold and other health problems; sex can boost your immunity.

Immunoglobulin A, an antigen that fights the flu increases when the frequency of sex increases.

5. Makes You Look Younger
Making love three times a week can make you look 10 years younger, claims a Scottish researcher. "It's good for you to have good sex," says David Weeks, a clinical neuropsychologist at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, whose study on the effects of sex on aging appears in his book, Secrets of the Super Young.

6. Healthy heart
Sex helps you burn calories but it can also improve your heart. Sex will take care of stroke and heart attacks, you just have to enjoy the moment.

Scientists with New England Research Institute examined the effect of sex on the heart. The study concluded that men are 45 percent less likely to experience cardiovascular diseases. But the study fails to study the effect of sex on a woman's heart.

7. Pain relief
Pleasure is the measure to beat out the pain. Do you experience migraines and body pain? Well sex is the answer. But if you experience back pain, it is best to consult a doctor.

Dr. George E. Erlich, an arthritis specialist from Philadelphia conducted a study on the link between arthritis and sex. He narrows down that patients who engaged in sex experienced less pain.

8. Builds trust and intimacy
The act of sex spikes the hormone oxytocin; this hormone is responsible for your happiness and love. If your feel your relationship is falling out, there is trust or you're worried that your partner will stray away, then sex will dispel these doubts. The hormone oxytocin builds trust and brings couples closer, and cupid too.

9. Less chances of cancer
Regular ejaculation reduces your chances of developing prostate cancer. In an Australian study men who ejaculated 21 times a month were least likely to develop cancer. It is further supported by other researches that sexual intercourse reduces the risk of prostrate cancer.

10. Stronger pelvic muscles
Sex involves the use of several muscles; hence regular sexual intercourse can help you develop stronger pelvic muscles. Further, since the act of sex involves a range of muscles, it also helps strengthen these muscles - for ex: quads, your core, and the upper back. Through regular sex, you can also maintain a strong bladder and bowel function.

Strong muscles, calorie burner, improves heart health - sex seems to take care of you.

11. Prostate Protection
Most of the fluid you ejaculate is secreted by the prostate gland. If you stop ejaculating, the fluid stays in the gland, which tends to swell, causing lots of problems. Regular ejaculation will wash those fluids out and ensure the well being of your prostate until old age. Problems may also occur when you suddenly change the frequency of ejaculations.

12. Induces sleep
After that great, lovely workout you are bound to get good sleep. But guess what? Sex works the same way as exercise. The increased heart rate leads to increased post-coital relaxation. Sex could be the next thing for insomniacs! So what really happens:

- Sex can relax you, hence if you are already tired, the act of sex will induce sleep.
- When men ejaculate they become lethargic, this can make them sleepy.

13. Regular periods
Apparently sex can improve your menstrual cycle. Sex regulates hormones, which in turn regulate the menstrual cycle. Sex reduces stress, which is one of the reasons women miss their periods. Sex seems like a better option than pills.

14. Prevents Erectile Dysfunctions
Fifty per cent of men older than 40 suffer from erectile dysfunctions and all young men fear the moment when they won't be able to get it up any more. The best medicine against impotence is...sex. An erection keeps the blood flowing through your penile arteries, so the tissue stays healthy. Plus, doctors compare an erection to an athletic reflex: the more you train the more capable you are to perform.

15. Live longer
A healthy heart, stronger muscles, increased circulation of oxygen and happiness are some of the factors that add life to the years and as a result - years to your life.

A study published in the British Medical Journal reveals that men who engaged in sex often live twice as those who rarely had any action.

16. Healthier semen
If you're trying to conceive, you increase the volume of semen if you have sex regularly. Regular sex replaces old sperms from the testicles. If there is a natural build of sperms it can lead to DNA damage.

Yes, Red, Godliness with contentment is great gain. Marriage, happiness, and sex are all good in their proper places! Worry and stress does distract from sex, and also sex help deal with worry and stress. When you are having sex, Red, you forget about your worries for a little while, huh?
