The typhoon called Yolanda is now battering the Philippines, and the eye has just passed over northern Cebu and is now just to the north of Negros Occidental, and then will pass close to Boracay. Our US news channel (CBS) reported tonight that this is rated the strongest storm ever recorded in world history, and they predict widespread catastrophic damages and a large number of fatalities.
I was chatting on facebook with a friend of mine in northern Cebu earlier when they lost their roof to this storm. When it was over Leyte, the winds registered 305 kph. I have been and will continue to pray for the people of the Philippines.

I been monitoring on Phils. news and its website. It is so sad that local weather station in Leyte has lost communication ...all communication is down...i can imagine just how fatal is Yolanda. I made calls to my parents this early evening just to check if they are all okay. My brother said the skies over CDO is so dark and told him better stay out from city there might be flashfloods gonna happen. Praying for all folks safety and this typhoon be stopped soonest.

Yes, I am glad that you and your family are all alive. This storm has done so much damage to the Central Visayas, and has taken thousands of lives.
You will be in my prayers.

Hey Lyrech where you from? I have a cousin and his family in Maasin, Leyte...we never heard from them since noontime last week Friday. They said they already moved to evacuation center. We are wondering if they are still alive.
