Climate Change

Postby crisipicada » Mon Nov 30, 2015 10:25 pm

United Nations Climate Conference is held in Paris, France. It started last November 30 until December 11, this year. President Aquino joined/attended the said conference and he gave a speech last night, at 10pm, Philippine time. During the news in the ABS-CBN, Philippines is in top 5 of being affected by the climate change, and being the top 1 in 2013. An environmentalist being interviewed, that, Industrialization of the develop countries has really affect the climate change. The more carbon dioxide being emitted by industrial buildings, transportation and the like, has contributed a lot to our climate change. Ice berg now continue to melt and would give storm surge as the news said. And our country has expected to lessen up to 70% of carbon dioxide being emitted by year 2030.

I still believe that it would start to ourselves. I consider myself as environmentalist or nature lover. I love to care for our mother earth through planting trees and fruits. In fact our house is full of your coconut trees at the backyard. Let us start taking care of our mother earth.

Yes Crisi i agree with you. it would start in ourselves. Lets begin to love and care for our environment than regret in the future. Even a single plastic can make it worst in our nature, we must know how to separate the biodegradable and non-biodegradable. I notice to some citizen in jeepney or in a plaza mall only candy wrapper, they drop without knowing someone are watching them it is a bad habit, i admit i did that but i change the way i used to be now i just put in my bag or i can see trash can then i threw it away :). This climate change is so alarming if we dont act now we will regret it.

I think people would change, physically and spiritually. The way people deal with the environment change the climate and will definitely destroy our society. The more people don't care about the surrounding the more it will destroy, and we will be the one to suffer. Our future lies in everyone's hand. Changes starts from us.. Climate change cause by us will lead our future to its end that we will regret one day. This changes in climate can also be cause by burning plastic, many factories in the Philippines releasing dark smoke in the sky. If we cannot change now who will change the future.

Christmas day is fast approaching. Everytime I watch tv patrol, countdown to Christmas is getting near. It is 18 days to go from now. The weather is cold during dawn. I feel freezing but then during daytime, it is very warm. But still it is in the news that there will still one typhoon coming to the Philippines before the end of the year. so watch out and prepare.

Although it was predicted that because of the El Nino that Central Texas would have a very wet winter, it has barely rained at all in the entire month of January. Instead, we have had some record setting high temperatures that are more Spring-like than Winter-like. And it was supposed to be drought like conditions throughout the Visayas, but I have been told that they have had lots of rain there recently. Maybe those doing the predictions are not as smart as they think they are.
I spent many years of my life as a roofer, and I can't count the number of times I saw the daily weather prediction that it would not rain, it it rained and rained and rained. That makes life difficult when you are on a rooftop and have an exposed house below you.

I don't roof anymore because I am too old for that type of work. I stay on the ground or on a ladder. I still do physical labor as a carpenter, but it is not as dangerous as roofing. I fell from a roof in 1998, and had many injuries...spinal cord injury, 3 fractured vertebrae, fractured left elbow, fractured pelvis, and fractured left foot. I spent a year in rehab learning to walk again. And thanks to God's mercy, I recovered enough to be able to work again in construction, but I do not move like I used to. These days I have 2 young helpers who do the high-off-the-ground needs, and I stay on the ground and direct their activity and cut the boards. I am still looking for my retirement window to escape through.

This month is very hot in the Philippines. We still have not reach the summer time but it is like having a biting sunlight. I knew it. I have experienced that and also my mother said, "it is too hot right now". I guess we just need to plant more trees and plants to have shed on our house or land. Water is very important for the plant to grow and also for the rice plants. Maybe we can ask the government for help to have at least artificial rain. What is your opinion about this?
