What are you doing for Christmas?

Postby Smiley » Sun Dec 13, 2015 1:46 pm

Normally Christmas is a fairly lonely time for me.My son would come over and we would eat and maybe do a puzzle or watch a video, something like that. Being as autistic as he is this is pretty much just another day to him.The girls would go to their mothers with plans to come to my place later in the day but she would always make them feel guilty about leaving so over time I just got removed from their day. We still do other stuff together, just not on Christmas day.
This year for a change I have been invited to my sons place. One of the other residents has no family and rather than leave him alone we will do a turkey dinner and between the 2 residents and the staff and me it will seem like a more special day for everyone.

So,what are your plans for Christmas?

Well, I believe i will be spending Christmas with my mother at home. Wish I can be more happier with someone else. But the time did not permit. Of course I am happy to be with my mother and my family members. During this time, I wish to extend help to children and people coming home like giving old clothes but nice one, going to have childrens party and just make them happy with games.

We will miss you sis :( As usual every Christmas gatherings with family and together we will go to church and this time my son is very hyper maybe I couldn't concentrate in mass because of his naughtiness last time I can carry him but now he is too heavy and very hyper kid. This Christmas I will wish them good health and better life for next year. Advance Merry Christmas to all.

My Christmas

Christmas is a time of cheer
I'll drink some wine, but have no beer
My kids will come and visit home
They don't yet have kids of their own

The house is normally full of hush
But for a week there's noise and rush
The cupboards will be full of food
As I strive to feed the hungry brood

With no small kids to get us up
On Christmas day we will be late to sup
The Turkey and Gammon will be cooking
I must not forget the Christmas pudding

Lots of vegetables to prepare
Potatoes and parsnips to roast with care
Sprouts, carrots and more than one pea
Mince Pies, Cream (Soya for me)

Before we eat we give a thought
For those poor souls with close to naught
For those who are ill the pain to cease
For those in a war we pray for peace

After prayers there is lots of chatter
We laugh and joke and pull a cracker
In every glass I pour some wine
Plates piled high we start to dine

Finally Busog* we are sat
with empty plates and feeling fat
Then lots of dishes to wash and clean
It does not take long working as a team

Then we gather to presents open
Maybe a CD or a book token
There is a neat pile that we can see
nestling under the Christmas tree

And on the sofa we collapse
It's time for after dinner naps
As the day ends we watch TV
Perhaps with cake and cup of tea.

Merry Christmas everybody. However you celebrate have a fantastic time. May all on Jameson (Jaderune) have their wishes come true in 2016.
God Bless.

*Busog = Full up in Tagalog. Pronounced boo-sog
