A year or so ago, I heard that public schools in the Philippines were going to go through the 12th grade eventually. That means that an additional two years will be added to the curriculum.
One of my friends in Leyte has a half sister who graduated from high school 2 years ago, and she has decided to go to college. She applied at a college in Leyte for next June, and they told her that she would have to go back to high school for two more years before she could be accepted into college.
This seems to me to be a major problem for the next several years because there will be no students graduating from high schools and no students entering colleges for this 2 year time period. Most colleges are not going to be able to afford to stay in operation with no tuition income from incoming students because there will be no new students coming in. Any comments?

I too read about it a while back. My memory is not the best, but I think I recall there were transition arrangements. Most college students go there straight from High School and the transition arrangements covered this. I suspect only those students, such as your friends sister, who take a gap will have issues. As to how big those numbers are, I guess insufficient for a college to make special arrangements.

K212 program it's like they study for a vocational course for 2 years it's good for children who cannot afford in college. But unfortunate who will graduate this year because it's implemented now they will push through another 2years in high school. We talked about this with my neighbors who have children in high school, For some parents who can afford for college to their student they feel disappointed and waste of money for 2years that It would rather spend for college years.

I read somewhere that many of the upper echelon colleges will offer the last two years of high school, but they are going to have to charge tuition. The provincial and smaller colleges will not offer these classes, and students who can not afford to pay the tuition will have to stop at 10 years education level. It all seems a bit complicated, and I hope that all of the kids who wish to pursue their education and graduate high school will have the opportunity to do that.

Because we have that middle school while other countries do not.
