Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what fork you use. - Emily Post

In our present society we are now seeing a lot of people with bad manners and it is hard to judge them on where they got that attitude. If it is outside or on their own home. We can say that may be 80% were imitation from their friends most specifically if their parents don’t care that much on the kind of people their kids associate with them and if they are always busy with their work and always away from home.

It is a true that parents want the best for their kids, and they don’t generally set their kids up for failure on purpose. Though, it is certainly possible that parents can unknowingly encourage bad manners. This can happen from the daily behaviors of the parents at home, they way the parents interact with other people outside the home.

Manners are really important. The impression we may have will leave a plant in every person we come in contact with. And if our manners are poor, this will become part of our social reputation.

Etiquette is a code of behavior that when used opens more windows of opportunity to success in all walks of life.

I personally, feel that manners are important because it creates positive energy. If you're nice to someone, that person is most likely nice to someone else, and so on. Kind of like the "Pay it forward" theory. It's not always guaranteed to work, but it pays off when it does.

I'll bet that if everyone used nice manners, people would be less frustrated all the time. I know that it always brightens my day when someone is nice to me.

I agree.
Good manners are getting scarce where I live. The average school kid makes Bart Simpson's behavior look good   It's too bad because good manners communicate to the world that you care about and respect other people whether friends or strangers.
Chaychay, if you walked into a school in America your eyes would grow big and your hair would stand up from hearing the things that come out of the kids mouths.

It's not a theory for me :) When I was a kid people would extend their hand when I needed it. I had no way to pay it back so I learned to pay it forward. As an adult, when people want to pay me back for helping them out, I tell them to help the next stranger who needs help. It makes my world a warmer place and I think it gives people a little push in the right direction even if they aren't aware of it. I think people behave better in the presence of well behaved people. It has that effect on me. :D

[color=#FF40BF]I guess we'll just be affected if we let them affects our manners..but as long as we have a good disposition and thinks always of what is right and what is wrong..it doesn't matter to whom we associate with in our daily activities..

Manners are important because it really affects your life or the way of living. Having good attitude and character will enhance your social life. People will like you or love you. Being respectful and kind are good qualities. Did you know that 85% of the applicant most of the job accepted and only 15% are intelligent. I heard that from our church when i was still college. That means, if you have good manners, you are likely to land a job in any institution etc compare to those who have intelligence. So, have a good manners always. :D

Good manners have a lot to do with common sense, which they say is not so common. Let the lady go first, open the door for her, help her on/off with her coat, but ask her first!!!! Say excuse me when interrupting, burping, or other unintended expressions. Say please and thank you. Say I am sorry. Talk softly unless you need to be heard. Express good eating manners at the table, and there are many others, many learned, but many come natural for a concerned and thinking person. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

The most important thing I learn in life is to keep your feet on the ground. Humbleness is one of the greatest attitude in life. If you are humble, you will have good manners, too. :P :P :P :P :P :P
