1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

If you don't need direction or men in general, i myself need direction. I don't want to live astray, and there are only two directions: whether it is on the right path or on the wrong path. It is up for us to choose. Everything is a choice.

I have to agree with you that life is about choices. A few weeks ago, a young lady member made a comment which basically said that everything has been decided for us in advance by God, and that we are just acting out a predetemined destiny. I do not agree with her assessment of life. I think we all have 'free will". We have the ability to choose, and our decisions affect and determine what happens to us in our lives.
If everything was predetermined for everyone, then why would God make a man a serial killer who would take the lives of innocent people? That evil person made the choice to be evil. God did not make him that way. When we pray for God to guide us, and we seek His influence in our lives, then we become closer to Him. When we praise Him in worship, then we probably try to act in ways that we think will please Him. If we make the decision to better our relationship with God, then that decision leads us to be closer to Him. We were free to choose. He did not force us to choose that path.
None of us are perfect. We are all sinners. We all make mistakes. But our God is a forgiving God, and if we ask for His forgiveness, and accept Christ as our Savior, then we will be forgiven. That is also a choice that we are free to make.

Thank you for that beautiful comment. I really appreciate i. By the way, i am concerned about Salvation. An old friend of mine came over and we had a nice conversation. He is looking for a church to attend to and that i envited him to our church. He observe sabath although he is not a seventh day adventist but he is convicted that saturday must be for the Lord's day. He commented that everything is predetermined. An example is that, if God will allow him to go to hell, then be it. He added that everything that happens to us is His will. He said that it is wrong to ask a person if he is going to accept Christ as His personal savior and Lord because for he first place man has nothing contribution for the salvation for his soul, but the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Many people heard about the gospel but not all will believe, yes it is true. For him, even someone did not heard the gospel but if it is the will of God to save him then that is up to God and that is His will. I commented that, anyway how can a man accept Christ if no one will share? In fact the greastest commission is to preach the Gospel. We really had a good conversation at that time.

Slightly harsh Mjsty, perhaps just recognition that what was said 6 months ago is no longer relevant :D In my case at my great age I have enough problems remembering what I said yesterday, let alone 6 months ago

It is not a lie if we forget what we said to a girl. It is just a lapse of memory. You gals should know that men DO NOT LIE!!! We just forget what we said, so cut us a little slack, and forgive us for our week memories.
