It is getting cold here. I am insensitive to temperature changes. It has to get really hot, or really cold before I notice the changes. While I was in the Philippines my friend was complaining about how hot it was, and I was just thoroughly enjoying the heat because I knew we were going to be returning to winter wonder land, and yes it has been snowing, and ice has been freezing on the water during each night. I have been having to break the ice with a hammer outside so the big dog can drink his water.
We had brownouts every day 2 and 3 times, and the fans would all stop when the electricity would fail. It didn't bother me, my friend really missed the fans when the electricity quit.
We are not really fighting, but Carol wants the house hot, and I want to burn fewer pellets, thus keeping the house cooler. We have a yellow crown amazon bird, so we can't afford to let the house get too cold, or else the bird will suffer. Carol says she is sure glad we have the bird or who knows how cold I would let the house get. I got him a heated perch before I left for the Philippines, but I was the one to put it in his cage for him when I returned. Then we cover him each night so that he will be warmer. We went on the internet and learned a little more about how to take care of him.
Carol is good, but she feels colder this winter than before. I think it is probably her diabetic condition that makes her feel that way. It is not fun to feel cold, so I try to run the stove warm enough so that she does not feel miserable. I tell her if it were summer she would want the house colder than it is, but that doesn't help her at all. She tells me that it is not summer, and it is cold outside, so she needs it warm in the house.
