Love is not a feeling, it is a DECISION. As far as the Bible warns us about our hearts that it is the most deceitful above all thing, therefore, use our mind more than out hearts because it will lead us to destruction. Search your hearts why and what motivates you to love someone. Ask the Lord if what you have felt for someone is from Him. Ask yourself, Is your current relationship with someone hinders your relationship in serving and growing in the Lord? Is your current relationship enhance your relationship and character as you live your daily life? Is it making you unhappy or frustrated? Then if the answers are all for the growth of your relationship to God, then that would be a sign that God is leading you in the right direction. Why? Because every relationship - friendship, family relationship, working relationship etc, is a chance to show God's love and helping others for his or her growth spiritually.

You are correct, Crisi, that love is a DECISION. God made the decision to love us, and we make the decision to love. All of your thoughts above are excellent! :D :D :D :D

Thank you for the enlightenment, yes to love someone is a decision. Christ chose to love us and give His only begotten son even to the point He will suffer on the cross.

Marriage should be work out. When two people are made in heaven that doesnt guarantee of smooth perfect relationship. There are ups and downs. One of the parties may fall out of love kay gisumhan na or nawad an og gana. There are differences definitely, so work on them. I agree on saying that opposite attracts. Mind you often they lasts forever.

Some broken marriages are due to cheating. I been watching the reality show of Genne Simmons. Like that show because i learn alot about marriage issues. A psychologist said that men cheat due to insecurities. I thought loving the husbands should not make them feel insecure. So you guys have insecurities?

Everybody has insecurities. Some people cheat, some do not. Everybody deserves to be loved and treated well. Some people never find this. Some people are just self absorbed jerks that refuse to consider the harm they are causing by looking for instant gratification, this would explain the majority of cheaters but there are others. Some people are trapped in loveless or even abusive relationships. I have known both men and women that have been constantly treated like dirt by the ones that they love.If you hit a piece of iron long enough it will bend. I do not respect cheaters but I do understand,in some cases why it happens.

villa wrote:Why are there broken homes? broken marriages? In my opinion, it is because God is not the center of the relationship. True commitment in marriage will only work when both had that FEAR of the LORD. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." Wisdom to identify RIGHT FROM WRONG. Wisdom of both partners to settle their differences in the context of God's perspective and discipline. Wisdom of both partners to pray together and surrender to the feet of Jesus all their concerns.
Entering into marriage without the "WISDOM OF GOD" in finding a partner is truly a big problem in the end. It is very important that both truly understand what they are entering into, because marriage is a divine vow not a broken vow. It must be a true commitment beyond self or physical satisfaction, beyond beautiful dreams, nice plans and programs on how to ran a family, beyond having children, beyond anything else. Because the ULTIMATE REASON FOR MARRIAGE is for us to understand the TRUE LOVE OF GOD to men. A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT TRUE LOVE IS, CAN ONLY BE ATTAINED WHEN WE HAVE THE RIGHT RELATIONSHIP IN THE LORD AND ACKNOWLEDGING THAT WE NEED HIS MERCY AND GRACE TO ATTAIN TRUE COMMITMENT IN MARRIAGE. APART FROM HIM, WE CAN DO NOTHING.

We should stop believing the fairy tales of happily ever after and deal with reality because there are lots of sorry no good men and lots of sorry no good women in this world.

Sorry no good men like to find good caring women to use.
Sorry no good women like to find good caring men to use.

The only hope of success in a marriage is if it has both a good man and a good woman and unfortunately the odds of that are low. So for any good man or good woman out there who wants to be married I say be very, very careful. In the USA about 60% marriages end in divorce. So expect that of the remaining 40% half or 20% will stayed married for various reasons but not be happy, that leaves 20% that may be happy. Not good odds. I will guess that human nature is about the same in the Philippines but since there is no legal divorce many couples are separated but still only 20% of marriages are somewhat happy. Be careful, it's a jungle out there!
