Our daughter wouldn't tell her what it was, but told her that she would like it, so I imagine Carol is over there having fun. This is funny because she is celebrating with our kids here a day early, and she will celebrate with our youngest daughter and her daughters a day late! She always hated having her birthday on December 23rd, because it was too close to Christmas and often just became part of Christmas, but this year she will have two celebrations for her birthday, and then she will have Christmas as well, so she doesn't always get ripped off!

Does that make her your Christmas Carol??

I think she is a Christmas Carol. I think over the years that has been said a number of times! I think when she was growing up often they just threw her birthday in with Christmas, and she kind of got cheated, but I don't think she felt too badly about it, and it was just a funny thing to talk about. If that was not bad enough some say she was born on one day, and some say she was born on another day! I can't remember if it was the 23rd, and 24th or 22nd and 23rd? Her doctor's records said that she was born on the 23rd, and she is not really sure herself, but she said that she has celebrated it on the 23rd forever, so the 23rd it is!

Happy Birthday to you, Smiley, and many more to you, and may they be happy ones! :D :D

Thank you very much, I too came from a working class family so being born 2 days before Christmas had a downside to it. For my birthday I am just going to spend a quiet day with my son.He doesn`t understand the concept of a birthday so I guess it will just be another day for us.

Well, yes, Smiley, and it will be special for you because you know it is your birthday, and you will be having fun with your son. That is what it is all about, is enjoying the celebration with family. Your son will no doubt detect something special in the day. I'm glad you are able to be with your son on your birthday! :D :D

Well, I am alone for a few hours because our daughter who lives here near us decided today to take Carol, and her daughter to town to do a late celebration of her birthday. It is fun for Carol, and I am glad for her. She just turned 71 years old December 23, 2012. Carol just called me to tell me what I could eat since she is gone when I need to eat my mid day meal. It is just me and Rand here, and Rand is now sleeping on my bed beside me. He loves to be near me. Carol told me when I returned last evening that Rand was lost without me, looked for me, and cried/whined much of the day. He is a wonderful doggie, and Scooby is as well! :D :D

Happy Birthday to you, lyrehc, and we hope your day was/is wonderful, and that you have many more like that. Sometimes people say they don't want to celebrate any more birthdays, but a friend of mine said that everyone wants to be remembered on his/her birthday. So, a Very Happy Birthday to you, lyrehc! :D :D :D :D

I have not heard from her lately. She was one of the sweepstakes winners, and I sent her an email about her win, and I also sent her a Western Union money transfer with the money, and another email telling her the control number and amount. I guess the next time she opens her email account, she will have a pleasant surprise.
