I take after my mother. She had teeth that deteriorated forever, and she had lots of work done on her teeth. I've had a lot of work done on my teeth early on. I did have a wisdom tooth that was bothering me, and the dentist pulled it. It was an easy experience, and it was out before I knew what was happening!
Dentists started doing temporary work when I was a young guy. They would drill out the decay, put a temporary filling in, and you were supposed to return to them to have them remove that temporary filling, and put in a permanent one. I had temporary work done, tried to not return, then had decay under the temporary filling, making my teeth problems much worse. I did this for years until finally my teeth got so bad that they started hurting like crazy, and also I started getting absesses! About 12 years ago my teeth were in such poor repair that I started getting permanent work done, and root canels. The dentist did temporary crowns, told me to be very careful and not even eat some things that required hard chewing. I did return for the permanent work, and it cost a terrible amount of money, but I recovered! Carol was suffering from the same problems, and she decided she was just going to have all her teeth pulled, but a couple of dentists talked her out of that, and she had the same work done that I did on my teeth. Now we have good teeth, and we work hard to take care of them!
I have gone into shock twice. The first time I was wearing a catheter because of a prostate that would not allow me to urinate on my own. I was helping set up for Halloween, and I stressed the tube going into my body enough that I started getting blood mixed in my urine. When I saw it, it looked worse than it was, and I went into shock thinking I was bleeding to death! My shock didn't last a long time, but it was very traumatic, with me getting weak, getting really cold, shaking, and so forth. A filipina gal who worked for the Park Service in maintenance talked to me, and she was a close friend. She asked if she could see, and because of my problems all thoughts of decency went out the window, so I pulled my pants down, and showed her. She helped bring me out of my shock. The other time was upon seeing my own blood also, and that shock lasted 2 hours, with warm blankets being piled on me, and they had me drinking 4 cans of juice. My blood pressure was 60 over 40,a nd my pulse rate was 40 beats. It was kind of funny because when I came out of shock, then all of a suddent I was fine wiht no after effects!
