Go to the world and multiply. But it never ends there..... it says ... and subdue it. Subdue here could mean control it. That means that contraception can be acceptable... Oh i want to enjoy my sex life of course before having kids

hmmm... "NOTHING MORE than vain pleasure"??? :? ... hmmm... do you really believe the union of two people in intimate sexual embrace is completely meaningless, empty, and useless.... if children can't result from it?.... do all women think and feel this way about sex? :( ..... (in my opinion... the sexual embrace is, potentially, the most intimate activity two human beings can share with one another... and be engaged in together... genesis 2:22-25; song of songs 8:6-7; heb. 13:4; 1cor. 10:31; prov. 5:15-19: etc.) ;) :) :D

I would hazard a guess that cutegen answered that way due to her Catholic faith. Her sister is a Nun in the convent, and her family believes what their church leaders profess.

It is true that Catholics are against Contraception. I rather use my brain than to follow beliefs that is against your will. As long as it wont hurt others and it is good for the majority, then be it.

cutegen wrote:Basically because the sexual act is when the two spouses give themselves to each other completely. And that includes your fertility. There is always the possibility of giving life.
Contraception goes against this and reduces the sexual act to nothing more than vain pleasure. Abortive methods are considered as murder as at the instant of conception there is everything needed to develop the embryo's life and to let it grow into a fully grown human being.

i hope i didn't come across as harsh or judgmental in my previous post here.... i actually agree with what cutegen wrote about the sexual act being a complete sharing of oneself with your spouse :) .... i also agree with her about abortion and any birth control methods that destroy a fertilized egg (ovum) :) .... i just don't share her view of non-procreative sex as meaningless.............. i was primarily hoping to prompt a discussion about human sexuality... and learn the thoughts and beliefs and opinions other filipinas have about why God invented sex and made us sexual creatures... :D

we all know that contraceptive is rampant now a days.because of number of large population of the different country around the world.and some of the other countries are doing legally contraceptive.
we just know that in order to make a country to make it progressive we should make a steps in order for smoth flowing of the nation to over come the crisis,to make it progress we should solve first the numberone problems in the society or country and that was the birth control.to make the control of population.well its not morally wrong because its not yet the fetus inside the womb but its just the blood... :|

I believe that as long as it is not killing the fetus that has formed already in the womb, then I believe that it is not morally wrong. USA, if i am not mistaken is 30times of the Philippines when it comes to its land area, and its population is almost 3 times of the Philippines. Therefore, its ratio and proportion land area against population, Philippines must have only 10 million population. Unfortunately, Philippines is almost 100 million in Population      , ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, now we know that we are over populated and that our country is poor. Is anyone wants to recommend means of birth control that is morally upright? Thanks for the contribution, in advance. :) :) :) :) :)

This is a difficult one to answer as what is morally upright for one person may not be acceptable to another.

Personally most if not all forms of contraception are acceptable to me. I guess those that create a barrier preventing sperm and eggs coming into contact with each other would be acceptable to a lot of people. For example condoms.

I recall that Michael gave an exhaustive list of contraceptive methods in a previous post in another thread.

If the Philippines does not address its ever expanding population it will be in deep trouble. Increasing unemployment, starvation and a greater break down in law and order as people get desperate. It will become impossible to govern. When will this point be reached, I think I have seen estimates as recent as 2016 stretching to 2030.

Birth control is a controversial subject. I do believe like Tom that once the egg is fertilized it should not be killed. I hope I am not coming across as being judgemental, but no Christian should favor pro-choice or abortion, and I heard one person recently who is a Christian Youth Leader say she was pro-choice! I was stunned!!!! This is a personal matter how you handle birth control, but I like the idea of avoidance during the critical time when the woman is able to get pregnant. I understand the Catholic's point of view on this also.

One poster said thousands of years ago they needed large families to help. Well I don't know where he is from, but if he was from the city, he may be right that large families were not needed in his relations recently. But as recent as my grandparents on both sides of the family they had large ranching/farming operations, not large by today's standards, but large then, like several thousand acres, and one to several hundred head of cattle. They did have large families and they needed all those kids to help with the work. I think each of my grandparents on both sides of my family, Mom and Dad's side had about 12 children each. Out of all those only one on my Mom's side is still living, and she is 90 years old. I think my Dad's youngest sister is still alive as far as I know, and she is also about 90 years old as well. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
