The Scariest Place I have ever been to was Brasil .. You are Never safe their as Their are Kidnappings daily that are not reported . Their are also Killings daily that are Not reported . I spent 1 week their and that was 5 days to Long . I was Lucky I only had My Hat Stolen from Me while I was wearing it .. Having the Olympics their is a Big Mistake to Me .. It would be safer in Most any other City . I was offered a Trip back to Brasil at 50% off . I just Laughed and told the Lady No Thank You .

Cheryz .. I have not been to the middle East . I have heard good and Bad about it . I was offered a Job their but had to turn it down . I would have made some serous Money there .I cannot say what the Job was as Some things are best Left unsaid .. But I would like to Visit the Middle East , I have to go to the Philippines . That is where the prettiest Ladies alive are . Plus they believe in God

Another problem in Southwest Mindanao:

A Chinese teenager who managed a family-run store has been kidnapped by four gunmen in a southern Philippine province where militants kidnapped an Australian three years ago, the police said.

The unidentified gunmen seized 18-year-old Li Peizhi late Thursday in Zamboanga Sibugay province's Kabasalan township, said Senior Inspector Leo Castillo. The gunmen also took 20,000 pesos ($455) from the store's cash register.

Castillo, the provincial police spokesman, said officers in pursuit found the kidnappers' vehicle burning in a village about two kilometers (1.25 miles) away.

Mayor George Cainglet said Abu Sayyaf militants who kidnapped Australian Warren Richard Rodwell in 2011 may have been involved. Rodwell was released 15 months later after his family paid a ransom.

Cainglet, who convened the town's crisis management committee, said no ransom demand had been made.

Castillo said local police backed by army soldiers have set up road blocks and launched coastal patrols.

The military says the Abu Sayyaf is holding about 10 hostages, including two Germans and two European birdwatchers.

Despite U.S.-backed military offensives that crippled the group, the Abu Sayyaf remains a threat and kidnappings have become a major fund-raising activity for the group.

Now You can See Why I will not Go to Mindanao . If they will Kidnap a Local then I would Stand out Like a New Penny their . Besides Even though I have heard How Beautiful Parts of that Island is .. I can go to the Philippines without going their . I hope and Pray that all the Hostages are Released soon .

yeah right wayne i dont go there either im afraid every minute of my time there. i pray for the hostages there too release soon and to be civil in release.. and to have a peaceful community in mindanao.

The whole island of Mindanao is not dangerous, only certain provinces, and especially Zamboanga where the Abu Sayyaf terrorists caused all of the conflict a few months ago. Those terrorists live in a chain of islands between Mindanao and Malaysia, and they come to Zamboanga frequently for supplies, etc......and too often decide to kidnap hostages who live in that area.
I belong to an agriculture group on Yahoo, and many of the members are ranchers/farmers in provinces in Mindanao, and they have been living there for years. But none live close to Zamboanga, and few of them would dare to venture to that part of the island. Mindanao is a huge island of 210 square km or 510 square miles, and it has about 25 million inhabitants, most of whom are peace-loving and honorable people. But a few thousand rebels and terrorists cause problems for everyone, and the result is that most tourists are unwilling to visit Mindanao, and businesses are unwilling to locate there, which does nothing to improve the economy of the majority.
