The grass crunched underfoot last night as I crossed the frosty lawn. The crisp air was cold, but refreshing. It was about -2C and the moon shone and the stars twinkled in an exceptionally clear sky. It was very quiet and I guess most of the area was asleep in preparation for the end of year festivities tonight.

I decided to take a photograph of the moon. That was a learning experience and not as easy as I expected!

Thanks for the kind comment. I did use a tripod. My initial attempts to take the photo failed, so I googled the solution. I was pleased with the results.

It is the calm before the storm here. There will be 17 seeing in the new year. People should start arriving in about 30 minutes.

Melon and Palma ham to start.
Then beef or salmon with yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, roast sweet potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, peas and gravy.
Then various desserts or cheese and biscuits.

It has been a long day, but worth it. Now where did I leave my red wine. Let's get the party started....
