My guess today Heroes Cemetery? Sorry that's a quiet place came to my head when I read your clue lol.

Interesting. I was unaware of the Heroes Cemetery. It is along the same lines and there may well be some duplication. The place in my photo is not far from Tarlac and is specific to events in 1942.

I believe it's Capas National Shrine, commemorating US and Filipino soldiers who fought the Japanese in WW2. Each of the blogs I read also made mention of a forced march of prisoners of war to Bataan, but my interest in history is not matched by my internet connection's stability so that's as far as I got.

Correct. Well researched! I was aware of the event. The black marble walls containing so many names overwhelmed me that so many lost their lives.
