There is quite a differentiasion between drugs. Some drugs are considered legal, while others illegal. There are over the counter drugs not needing a prescription for when you have a headache, or your stomach bothers you, or you injur your self and need pain relief. Some drugs you have to have the prescription from the doctor or it is illegal for you to use them. Some drugs such as marajuana some people have medical permission to use, and there are people who would like to see marajuana legalized. I don't think the governments should make it easier or more acceptable to use those drugs.
I just finished with a Jazz History class. Some of the earlier jazz musicians were plagued with alcohol abuse. Then almost at the same time and maybe a little later maruajana was plaguing some of the musicans. I don't mean it just caused them a little trouble, but it totally disrupted their lives in some cases, and in many it brought them to an early death. Then when the jazz musicans started playing bebop music many of them gravitated to New York City. Many of those musicians started using heroin, which I think is much worse. That did destroy their effectiveness and did bring them to an early death. I think probably heroin was more available in New York City, and that is probably the reason many of them started using that drug. That was a sad part of the history for me, because I did not realize it previlence until I took that class.
Even coffee is a drug. When I was younger I drank an enormous amount of strong coffee. I took a health class from a university for my teaching certificate, and the information said that if you drink a lot of coffee you are more likely to have cancer and/or heart disease. I quit drinking coffee at that time. Since they are actually saying their are health and mental benefits for drinking coffee. I quit drinking it in 1992 or so, and I'm not going to go back to drinking it even if some people think it is good for a person.
I don't take any form of drugs for anything. If I were hurting badly or there was another important reason I might. I don't take anything when I have a cold, when I have a headache, stomach ache, or when I injur myself. Everyone else in my family takes what they think they need, and that is okay with me, but I don't take any of it. I don't take any perscription drugs, but if I developed a physical health problem I might have to, such as high blood pressure or diabetes. I just trust the Lord to take care of me, and if I have to take some prescripton drugs in the future to safeguard my life, that is the way it will be.
