While approaching to the office early in the morning, my officemates told me that our resident accountant and resident Commission of Audit are waiting at the office. I was so surprised because the radio message received last week was all the collecting officers must report to the office of the provincial office for audit/cash count.

And then, we do cash count immediately. I am glad that yesterday, I make sure that everything is ready. At least, we do not need to travel 31 kilometers or approximately an hour travel to Malaybalay City for the said audit.

The last audit done in the station was June 16, 2011 conducted by the Bureau of Treasury. But then, the resident COA will consider the one last audit by the COA at the Local. Therefore, we started to audit the Month of March 2011 up to present.

I am happy that I prepare the reports starting Month of October 16, 2010. Since we started 8:00am sharp, we finished the audit at exactly 11:30am. There are questions previous reports made by my officemates but it turned out okay because all are balanced and the undeposited was already corrected the next month.

The good thing also, that, I make sure that all collections yesterday was deposited to the bank. I prepare the Cash Receipt Record as I update the record every day just incase there will be surprised audit again. :D :D :D :D :D :D . Thought it is not yet month end, I printed two copies ready for inspection against actual collection and deposit.

I am very happy that your audit turned out well for you, Crisi! :D :D

It was so hot early this morning, so I closed all the windows to hold the cool air in the house, and that does help. The wind started blowing, and the clouds moved in, so I opened the windows back up to let the cooler air back in. The neighbors are beginning to cut their wheat. Not all of it is ready, but they are cutting high places where it is riper than other places. We have had such a cool summer that their wheat is late ripening. They are anxious to get it cut before it starts raining. It looked like it was going to rain, and it was a few miles away. We actually had sprinkles of rain blown in the windows, so I wondered if I was going to be able to walk the dogs and get back without getting wet, but even though I did feel some moisture out on my walk, it didn't even sprinkle while I was walking. I have been leaving for our walk at 6:30 p.m., and that gets me back almost after dark. The sun is down, and it is dark, but I can still see good enough to make it back. I go later because it is almost too hot for the doggies while I am walking them. The smaller dog lays in the shade of the weeds and grass, and the Scooby, my huge dog, Saint Bernard relative, one that is sitting in my lap on the picture, he just stops when he gets too hot, and I don't push him. I stop until he is ready to go, and then he drinks a ton of water after getting back from our walk. I walked 1/2 hour earlier this evening because of the cool weather. We got back just after the sun went down. This reminds me of a song, and I can't remember all of it, but it goes, "The setting sun, is getting low, a few more days, and I must go, to meet the deeds, done in the flesh...." and that's all I can remember right now. It is kind of a nice song; fun to listen to, and fun to sing.

A niece of mine and her little toddler boy is here, actually at our daughter's house about 600 feet from our house. He is getting cuter all the time with talking and being funny!

My sister and her half filipina granddaughter, my great niece, came yesterday from the Tri-Cities, Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland, Washington. She actually lives in Kennewick, and has for many years. They have the Hanford Nuclear plants there, and many people in the area die from cancer, which is really sad, but many people survive too, so it is a mystery why some die and some survive.

She and her granddaughter found an entertainment center for my wife, Carol. Carol has always wanted one, and they found one at a pond shop down there very reasonably. She brought it up to us, and while I was out walking my big dog Scooby and my medium sized dog Rand my daughter and granddaughter carried it into the house. I didn't feel too much guilt because they know when I walk my dogs, and I am gone walking for 2 hours, then they could have waited until I got back, but they said it was not too heavy for them. We used some liquid nail stuff to put a couple of trim pieces on. I didn't understand that you have to puncture the spout with a nail, so I put enough pressure on the tube to have liquid nail come out of the back instead of the spout, so my sister used her finger to apply the stuff, then after the tube was in the garbage I got it out and read the directions! Isn't that what you are supposed to do; read the directions after you are finished, when it doesn't work correctly? Oh, well, we got it done anyway!

It is still Tuesday here for 3 more hours. I did something wrong with my back moving television, VCR, DVD player, sound system, last week. I did move a piano a little ways out so that I could reach an electrical receptor, and I lifted a television set, but I have done that before. Either lifting, reaching, stretching, bending a lot, pushing, pulling, anyway my back hurt before I finished with that job, and then it has hurt ever since, but it is gettting better each day, and I will be fine. Today oatmeal, milk and raisins for breakfast. Romain lettuce and tunafish, and milk for lunch. Baked potatoe, gravy, apples and milk for supper. I walked the dogs for 2 hours again this late afternoon, early eveing, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. I started earlier and the dogs were more enthusiastic as it is much cooler today. I closed most of the windows and put an extra shirt on. It is not only cool, but the wind is blowing also. It is a contrast to the very hot days we have been having. I will no doubt eat some peanut butter, honey, and drink a little more milk before I get into bed.

We got up this morning, and I had a bowl of cooked oatmeal with sliced Granny Smith cooked apple wedges in it with milk. Then we went to church, and it was very good! After church we went over to the Dairy Queen to have something to eat. Carol and I shared pop corn shrimp and French Fried Potatoes. I had a banana split, and Carol had a child's size blizzard, and we each drank water.

We got home, and I played the piano most of the afternoon. This morning before church I metered with the car the distance that I have been walking and discovered I have been walking 6 1/2 miles each day since last March 15th with a few days off while we were gone visiting.

Carol started walking with me. She is overweight by a lot, and not in good physical condition, so she hasn't tried the entire walk, but at least she has gotten started. The first day I think she walked about 1/2 mile. Then yesterday she walked 2 miles. Then today she walked about 3 miles, and she said that she could feel in her legs that she had walked. Her diabetes has been getting out of control lately, and her blood sugar glucose readings have been anywhere from 250 to over 400, with it being from 200 to 300 most of the time. We all tried to tell her that she needed to get out and walk, but she said that she did not like to walk, she did not enjoy walking, and she was not going to walk. But after the doctor talked with her she has decided that even though she doesn't like to walk, she had better do it anyway, and when her blood sugar was really high she decided that she needed to walk. Now she is talking about gearing up to walk further each day, so it is good for her, and I am glad that she has decided that. Between what the doctor told her, and her high blood sugar readings she decided on her own to walk, and it should help her. She does pretty well for being so heavy except for the hills, and the hills really work her hard, makes her breath hard, and want to stop and rest, which she just about has to part of the time.

She walks much slower than I do, so walking with her slowed me up enough that I finished my walking in the dark, so I think I am going to have to start walking earlier to finish before dark. On the way to church I found that 6 1/2 miles is a long ways donw the road, but when you talk one mile and walk it 6 1/2 times which is what I do, it doesn't seem that far. I walk that distance in about 2 hours, but it will take longer than that walking with Carol, and that is okay. :D :D :D :D

My life has been very busy. Last Monday, September 5, 2011, city fire marshal directly instructed me together with my officemates to conduct lecture and fire drill at school of the morning star, one kilometer more or less away from school. I never thought to speak before the kids or elementary students. I do not know how to start with the lecture because it was the first time for me to speak to children.

I was glad that I have my notes on me regarding Kiddie Fire Marshal, that notes of mine was written last three years ago while I was assigned in Don Carlos Fire Station. I am glad that it turned out good and the children were happy.

When I ask them where is the Fire Station in the city is located, most of them raised their hands. A boy, asked, "Ma'am, where is the fires station? They all laugh including the teachers because he was so serious to know where it is located. From grade school 1-6, a girl answered and tell them that the Fire Station is located at the New Integrated Bus Terminal.

I discussed about Tips on what to do in case of fire - house and school. Glad that some of the students has their fire extinguisher at home and know how to use it. It is a good opportunity and experience of them that they have been given lecture and seminar and fire drill about Fire prevention and suppression. Attached are the photos taken during the said event.

Thanks for the pictures, Crisi, and that was a great opportunity with the kids! The kids having that knowledge, and having those fire extinguishers is a great help for everyone.

Where we lived and worked for 10 years in the National Park, it was usually my job to gather fire extinguishers from everywhere, all the hotel rooms, restaurant, shop, laundry area, buses, you name it, about 50 or so, more or less. I would bring them to a centralized location, like outside the restaurant, and then fire extinguisher experts would come test them, okay them, or replace them. It was part of a governmental requirement to have the extinguishers tested, and make sure they were at their proper locations. We had lots of other fire safety rules, and we had Park Services inspectors that came through inspecting for infractions, and fire safety problems. The inspections usually turned out well, but occasionally we did have problems that had to be addressed.

One time in the 10 years we were there we actually had a pretty good fire started. The last 2 years we worked there the owners set up a commercial washer and dryer to do their own laundry which before that we sent down lake on a boat to another town to have that laundry done. Anyway the last 2 years the place we worked for did our own bed sheets, towels, wash clothes, you name it, whatever was used in the hotel rooms. Well, my wife, Carol, was in charge of doing that laundry the last 2 years. The dryer wash propane operated, and she left a load of wet towels, sheets, and so on, in the dryer, with it running while we went to meet the boat with all the people coming from the outside world. The only way to get there was with a boat or an airplane. Anyway while we were all gone to meet the boat, she collected the money from people going on the bus tours that I drove. While most everyone was meeting the boat, the lint in the dryer caught fire. About all that burned was the sheets, pillow cases, towels, wash clothes and so on that were drying. The people on fire control with the Park Service did more damage than the fire, and the fire was confined to the dryer, but they over reacted, chopped holes in the building, shot water everywhere, causing some water damage. After it was over a number of repairs were necessary, but at least the building did not burn, and we were living right above that in a 3 story A Frame building, so we were thankful that our house did not burn with all of our things in it. After that before Carol went to the boat, she would turn that dryer off, and not leave it running while gone to the boat.
