Great! You really got a good deal. I went from Cebu City To Bayawan, Negros Oriental and back about 3 years ago in a new car with a driver, and that cost me 2000 per day. Then last year a van with driver to travel around Bohol cost me 3000 per day, and both of those trips were arranged by some filipina friends.
There used to be a driver with a van that would take people all around Leyte and Biliran for 1500 per day, but he died 2 years ago, and he was the cheapest I had found. He was a friend of a filipina friend I have who lives in the US. I am always intertested to find ways to save money, and to get contacts so i can pass them along to other friends.
Thanks for the reply. Hope your wife is getting used to life in the US, and that both of you are finding lots of happy times together!

I am glad you enjoy your vacation in the Philippines and others too. I hope that you have good experience and not being fooled by somebody else.

My friends are returning to the Philippines from the middle of November to the first part of December, and I was invited to go along again, but I can't do it this time. I am a small time landlord with a couple of houses, and one of my renters is moving out the end of November, and I have to be here to see that the move out is smooth. I have not done well with them. I have had renters leave without paying, and I just lose the money. They have damaged the house and I had to spend time and money repairing things. I hope I can get better renters who will take care of things and pay the rent. Sounds like I am complaining, doesn't it. Anyway I can't return to the Philippines this time, which I greatly wish I could because these guys are wonderful friends, and it is so much fun to be with them, and then being in the Philippines is fun too! :D :D :D :D

I just talked with my friend after he and his filipina wife got back from the Philippines. I gave them about a week to recover before I called to talk with him. They had a nice time with their families, and met with a filipina from her who went to Manila as her mother is very sick, and not expected to live very long with heart problems. They went to the Philippines sooner than they planned to partially to see the results of work that was done on their new house. My friend told me that this trip was harder on him than any of the others, and he didn't think 2 weeks was enough time to enjoy, and well as justifying the cost of flying to the Philippines. He had to use his 2 week vacation, so they couldn't wait for the cheapest airlines' tickets, and they were a lot more expensive than last year. He told me that it took him a lot of his 2 weeks just to adjust to the time change, and then about the time he was adjusted, it was time to return, and he told me that it took him longer to get adjusted back to this time zone. He is talking about waiting until he is retired to return, so they can have longer before having to return, but I will bet that they will return before that time comes. It was kind of funny because I was walking in the extreme cold, wind and snow, and thinking about them suffering from the heat in the Philippines. :D :D :D :D
