Have you ever gone to an appointment on the wrong day?

Postby Edwin » Mon Dec 05, 2011 8:53 pm

I decided that I should get my eyes checked as I became aware that I was not seeing as well as I used to. I made the appointment before we left to visit our kids, enjoy Thanksgiving, and celebrate birthdays together; mine and our granddaughter's born on my birthday. Well, they had one appointment at 7:50 a.m., and that is early because of the time it takes to drive from here to town. I asked if they had any other openings, and they told me that they did in January, so I took the one in December. Originally I knew when the appointment was, but I started thinking it was on Monday instead of Tuesday. We got up early, got ready, and got on the road to make the appointed time. As I was standing in front of the receptionist I looked down at my appointment card, and I saw that I was there on time, but a day early. The receptionist asked me how far away I lived, so I told her that it took an hour to get there. To make a very long story shorter, she went back to the eye doctor and his nurse, and they told her to bring me in, so they examined my eyes one day early, and said that they would have no trouble filling my appointment spot for the next day, as they are really booked up, and I was very surprised that they took me right in for the examination. My eyes are healthy all except that I have the starting of cateracs, which didn't please me at all. But they told me to eat healthy and keep the ultra violete radiation down, so I am having me lenses coated with photo grey to take care of that. We eat as healthy as we can. I think I have probably exposed my eyes to too much sunlight as I have never worn sun glasses, but the eye doctor talked like it was an age related situation also, and I hated to hear him say that, but that is a fact of life. After being away for 2 weeks I and the doggies went for our 6.5 mile walk again, so diet, exercise, and now the exclusion of the direct sun rays! :D :D :D :D

The only time I ever went to an appointment on the wrong day I got lucky. They were booked when I made the appointment so that if I had not taken that appointment I would have had to have waited over a month. Well, they went back to see the doctor and nurse, and told me come right in; we have time for you! It worked out. We thought Carol had an appointment with the doctor this morning. Yesterday was considered a holiday in the USA with nothing open so we couldn't verify the appointment. She called early this morning and learned that the appointment is Thursday instead Tuesday; today. She lost her appointment card; couldn't find it anywhere, and couldn't verify it until this morning after 8 a.m. But it all worked out well because we didn't make the run down the hill for it, and now today will be like other days, and Thursday we will go for her appointment!    :D :D

Well, we went down for Carol's doctor's appointment today. This was the correct day. She has one of her medications related to diabetes increased which is supposed to help her. The doctor offered to increase her depression medication, but Carol said that she was doing okay the way it is, so that is nice. They are continually increasing her insulin without seeing her blood glocose numbers drop, but the doctor said there is something else they can do, but they will have to send her to a doctor out of town who has more expertise. She would have to take more insulin more often, and Carol is thinking if it is that way she might as well go to the pump. :D :D :D :D
