if you are a teacher and your major is English there is a chance that you will have a fair share of jobs in teaching specially private schools like Korean English academy, Japanese or Chinese. I'm in Baguio city where in there are at least 100 plus academies so teachers who are English majors can get jobs. "but if a teacher is looking for a job in public schools Its the same here, teachers have to have a string to pull in order to get in... sad truth...
want to know 101 things I wish to do before I die// lets talk :)

In my own point of view, both have its advantages and disadvantages. Not too many are taking midwifery because of its too much costs in education. Meanwhile, many are taking education or teachers in different fields in the hope of landing in a public school someday. I am talking about someday because it is not easy to land in a public school. There were thousands and thousands of teachers taking the licensure every year and once they passed just waiting for a long queue of ranking with no assurance. It says that the teachers who rank from 1 to 5 will be good as they will get the closer place to replace the retirees.

There are many reasons why a person takes a course. One may choose midwifery but can't afford so she takes the cheaper course and in the future continue with the next course that she really wanted. Many people don't like education but sometimes we have to choose what is the most practical course. When I was on way to college which I thought I can't go, I was thinking I like to be working in a hotel to be a front desk officer of staff in the hotel but the money and my height is a problem so I came up with the course of education though I don't like it. In our place in a province, education is the cheapest course and also the miscellaneous are not that expensive, we will just be needing papers and other things. This is not really my passion but many influence me to take this course for me to be a public teacher in the future.

In our country many take education to be teachers, and when they finish, they as well find that they can't get jobs. When I went through education college I was at the top of my class academically, and no one had any better grades than I did. They had a public school superintendent speak at the graduation, and they also he me speak as part of the graduation ceremony. I was the model student. When it came to the practical application I had a classroom teacher that didn't do me right, and I ended up with the lowest grade for that, that I had in all my college experience. I never had a C in any class before that or after that. This teacher also gave me poor ratings. She didn't have me doing any teaching until the teacher supervisor was coming, and then she said, now what can we have you do when this supervisor gets here. Well, I was up demonstating what I had not learned, and it proved disasterous. I substitute taught in public school classrooms for 10 years, and many times I thought, "this could be my classroom, and my job if things had gone better. After the first few months I had learned enough so that I was performing well, and all the schools and teachers wanted me to substitute for them. One principal told me that I was his first wish, and if he couldn't get me he would chose someone else, but I never got a permanent teaching position because of my poor experience with that one teacher. But it is okay as I did okay substitute teaching until I got a chance to work in the tourist industry, and then I liked that much better! I would chose working with tourists any day over the teaching, and in a way I was teaching, only in a different setting. I know of a quite a few people that do not perform well while learning to teach, and then they end up doing something else. It could be like you are talking about that they turn out too many teachers, and there really isn't enough demand for all of them, so most of them end up having to do something else. :D :D :D :D
