A couple from Oliver, British Columbia, Canada, just a few miles north of us here, went on a vacation trip to Oregon. He was 71 years old, and his wife was 75 years old. The vacation must have been stressful because she died probably crossing the Washington State, Oregon State border. He realized she was dead, or thought she was in Pasco, Washington, just a few miles this side of the border. He was confused, and he panicked, so he drove on with his dead wife beside him. He used his Onstar guidance system to make phone calls to talk about it. When he got to Tonasket, Washington, just 2 towns north of where we are, he pulled over, contacted the police, finally after driving 225 miles. They took his wife to the local Tonasket hospital where she was pronounced dead. Then her body was move to a local funeral home, and then I am sure arrangements will be made to transport her body over the border. Part of the problem is that the laws in the USA and in Canada vary. He was hoping to transport her body across the border himself, but it didn't work that way. It is a very sad ending, and the poor man was traumatized and grief stricken.
